    Abstract: A sealed lead-acid storage battery having a long trickle life, being excellent in the welded strength between the container cover and the top lid covering the part of the container cover where a vent valve is provided, and having a high reliability is disclosed. The battery comprises: a container for accommodating an electrode group, a container cover for closing an open end of the container by being bonded to the open end of the container with a resin adhesive, and a top lid for covering a part of the container cover where a vent valve is provided by being bonded to the container cover by means of ultrasonic welding, wherein the container is formed with a denatured polyphenylene ether resin containing a flaky inorganic substance of humidity non-transmitting property, whereas the container cover and the top lid are formed with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin containing no flaky inorganic substance of the humidity non-transmitting property.

Especially, all of the positive and negative electrode poles at the upper portions of the groups of electrode plates in the monoblock battery container, in which the cell chambers are arranged in two parallel rows, are arranged on the same side near the central partition, and the electrode poles of adjacent cell chambers are connected by cell connectors which cross over the partitions between the adjacent cell chambers in the battery container.

    Abstract: In a cap with valve, an annular projection is formed at an inner circumference of a fluid flow path of a cap body to be installed at an opening portion of a container. A valve body is an annular body and provided with an inner circumferential lip element projecting upward at inner circumferential edge and an outer circumferential lip element projecting downward at outer circumferential edge, and the outer circumferential lip element abuts on the annular projection of the cap body. A first disk-shaped support plate is arranged at upper side of the valve body and provided with a support member supporting the upper surface side of the outer circumferential lip element. The first support plate is biased downward by a first spring means from upper side. A second support plate is arranged at lower side of the valve body and provided with a support member supporting the lower surface side of the inner circumferential lip element and with a fluid flowing hole at the center.

The engine compartment has upper and front openings therein and also has an upper covering which is pivotally connected at the rear end thereof to the automobile body. The upper covering has a closed position for covering the upper opening, and an open position for opening the upper opening and also has a front covering which is pivotably connected to the automobile body. The front covering has a closed position for covering the front opening and an open position for opening the front opening. The radiator is offset from the center of the engine in the transverse direction of the automobile.
