Patent number: 7151788Abstract: The invention relates to a laser processing device that can change the diameter of a beam spot on an object to be processed, without using a mechanism for changing a distance between a condensing lens and the object. A beam emitted from a laser beam source is condensed by the condensing lens, and is made incident to an optical fiber. The beam emitted from the optical fiber is condensed by a condensing optical system onto an object to be processed. The object is welded using the condensed beam. The laser processing device comprises an adjusting unit that can change the angle of divergence of the beam on the emission surface of the optical fiber. The adjusting unit changes the angle of divergence of the beam, thereby to change the diameter of the beam spot formed on the surface of the object.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2002Date of Patent: December 19, 2006Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Masayuki Imakado, Naohisa Matsushita

Patent number: 6806723Abstract: Contact electrodes having a predetermined shape are formed by irradiating a laser beam onto the contact electrodes that are formed of a conductive material. The laser beam can be irradiated, after joining an end of each contact electrode opposite to a contact end to a contact board, so as to deform the contact electrode so that the contact end is located at a predetermined position. The laser beam may be irradiated while heating or cooling a portion of the contact electrode opposite to a portion onto which the laser beam is irradiated.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2003Date of Patent: October 19, 2004Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Shigeyuki Maruyama, Keisuke Fukuda, Naoyuki Watanabe, Takumi Kumatabara, Naohisa Matsushita, Masayuki Imakado, Kyohei Tamaki, Hiroshi Nozawa

Patent number: 6065858Abstract: Determining the intersection line of a plane Z=Z1 perpendicular to the axial direction of an end mill and a design surface, determining equal pitch offset-curves as path elements inside a material and outside the intersection line, determining intersection points crossing a material boundary from outside to inside as cutting start and end points and reverse respectively when going along the path, determining a tangent to the path element at the cutting start point and determining the intersection point of the tangent and a material boundary offset line outside the materials as the end mill approach start point. Determining a point at a minimum height on a design surface and determining such a ball end mill that a mill model does not interfere with the design surface when aligning the tip of the mill model with the point. When performing offset milling by a thickness .delta., making a mill model by reducing the outline of a rotating end mill by the thickness .delta.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1996Date of Patent: May 23, 2000Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Shingo Yamaguchi, Tatsuo Kimura, Masayuki Imakado, Naoki Asano
