  • Patent number: 5147659
Abstract: A nozzle touch apparatus (5) for use in an injection molding machine, which is capable of automatically adjusting a nozzle touch force in a multi-stage fashion during execution of an injection molding cycle, having springs (56) each fitted on a guide rod (52) and disposed between a ball nut (54) and an extension portion (43) of an extruder base of an injection unit (4), the guide rod being formed integrally with the ball nut which is threadedly engaged with a ball screw (52) coupled to a servomotor (51) and inserted through a hole (43a) formed in the extension portion. The nozzle touch apparatus further includes a servo circuit (63) supplied with a signal from a strain gauge (61) provided on the extension portion and indicative of an actual nozzle touch force, and a signal supplied from a numerical control unit (64) and indicative of a predetermined nozzle touch force.

  • Patent number: 4906173
Abstract: A compressor unit of an injection-compression molding machine having a movable platen and a stationary platen. The compressor unit includes a compression pin (32) fixed to the end of a ball screw (29) threadedly engaged with a ball nut (24) which is coupled, by means of a power transmission mechanism (35), to a servomotor (19) attached to the movable platen (3). As the servomotor rotates, the compression pin moves axially together with the ball screw relative to the movable platen to project through the movable platen toward a mold clamped between the platens to cause molten resin filling the mold to be compressed.

  • Patent number: 4134446
Abstract: The sealing mechanism for a rotative heat regenerator herein disclosed includes a pair of seal rings fixed to an axle received in the central hole of a disc-shaped rotative heat regenerator core. Each seal ring has a boss provided in the center and inserted over the axle, at least two arms extending outwardly from the boss and rings being attached to the outer ends of the arms and identical in diameter to the heat regenerator. The boss, the arms and the rings are positioned opposite to the center, the side face and the outer periphery, respectively, of the heat regenerator. Each of the boss, the arms and the rings has a sliding member facing either side of the heat regenerator, and the sliding members provided in the rings are slidable along the outer surface of the regenerator. Elastic bodies are interposed between the sliding members and the regenerator surface.
