  • Patent number: 5863191
Abstract: The invention concerns a scroll compressor which is low in noise caused by water hammering of a refrigerant gas just after a discharge valve is closed. The scroll compressor includes a discharge member (45) having a discharge port (8) opposed to a discharge port (5) of a fixed scroll (2) and a discharge valve (9) opposed to the discharge port (8) of the discharge member (45) and opened/closed depending on a difference between flow passage pressure of a refrigerant gas and pressure in a high pressure space (27) in a sealed vessel (1). At least either of the fixed scroll (2) and the discharge member (45) is formed with a muffler chamber communicated with the discharge port (5, 8) and having a diameter larger than a diameter of the discharge port (5) of the fixed scroll (2) for suppressing occurrence of an impulse wave caused by water hammering when the discharge valve (9) is closed. Noise caused by a pressure ripple of the discharge port lessens, quieting the operation of the scroll compressor.

  • Patent number: 5108274
Abstract: A scroll-type fluid machine includes a fixed scroll having a spiral wall; an orbiting scroll having a base plate which is on one side provided with a spiral wall, the orbiting scroll having the spiral wall combined with the spiral wall of the fixed scroll. A rotation preventing mechanism prevents the orbiting scroll from rotating about its own axis. A driving shaft is driven by a driving source, which has an eccentric portion, the eccentric portion causing the orbiting scroll to carry out orbiting movement through an orbiting bearing. A counter-weight is coupled to the driving shaft in such manner that it takes an eccentric position at the side remote from the eccentric portion of the driving shaft and it has a play with respect to the driving shaft in a radial direction, which can balance with at least part of a centrifugal force caused at the orbiting scroll side, and which has radial movement controlled by the orbiting scroll side.

  • Patent number: 4846639
Abstract: A scroll compressor comprises a driving scroll, a driven scroll combined with the driving scroll to be driven by the same through the mutual contact of the wrap plates of the both scrolls, a movable bearing support held in a sealing container so as to be movable in the axial and radial directions of the container. The movable bearing support supports the driven scroll so that the driven scroll is pushed in the radial direction of the container, whereby gaps formed between the wrap plates of the driving and driven scrolls can be avoided.
