  • Patent number: 5340023
Abstract: A plasma flame flowing to a substrate around a beam of melt droplets is trimmed by spraying a refrigerant on the periphery of the plasma flame in the direction which allows the refrigerant to contact with the beam of the melt droplets.

  • Patent number: 5070274
Abstract: An arc is formed between a pair of discharge electrodes, a plasma gas separated from a raw material gas flowing substantially in parallel to the arc to form a plasma flame, the raw material gas flowing to the upstream within the plasma flame, and a diamond being deposited on the substrate downstream within the flame.

  • Patent number: 5051321
Abstract: Disclosed are a solid oxide fuel cell and a method of manufacturing the same. An electrolyte layer of the solid oxide fuel cell unit is formed by spray coating the layer on a substrate having a coefficient of thermal expansion which is substantially equal to that of the electrolyte layer, and the formed layer is then subjected to heat treatment.

  • Patent number: 4743940
Abstract: A thermal fixing roller for use in a copying machine and a method for manufacturing the thermal fixing roller are disclosed. An insulator layer is formed on an outer surface of a cylindrical metallic pipe, a masking wire material is wound in a spiral manner on the surface of the insulator layer and a heat-generating resistor is formed by spray coating heat-generating resistor material on the insulator and wire surfaces. Thereafter the wire material is removed to leave a groove at its trace, and thereby the above-mentioned heat-generating resistor can be formed in a spiral shape. By choosing pitches at the opposite end portions of this spiral resistor smaller than that at the central portion thereof, uniform temperature is maintained over the entire length of the thermal fixing roller. Also by forming a cross-section configuration of the masking wire material in a rectangular shape, it is allowed to reduce the width of the above-mentioned groove to minimum.

  • Patent number: 4741286
Abstract: A single torch-type plasma spray coating method wherein a gas flow in a nozzle of a plasma torch is made to be a laminer flow, thereby the plasma flame jetted from the end of the plasma torch is modified to be a laminer flow flame, the plasma is separated from the plasma flame which contains liquid droplets of molten spray coating material and runs toward an object to be worked by means for separating plasma arranged immediately before said object to be worked, and remaining droplets of molten spray coating material impinges on said object to form a coating film thereon, and an apparatus therefor.

  • Patent number: 4670290
Abstract: A multiple torch type plasma spray coating method and a multiple torch type plasma spray coating apparatus in which a main torch and an auxiliary torch are disposed so that their center axes may intersect each other, is improved in that laminar flow plasma is generated by the main torch, spray coating material is charged into the plasma flame in the proximity of the outlet of the main plasma torch, the plasma flame is blown onto an object to be treated, plasma is separated from the plasma flame just in front of the object to be treated, and the then left spray coating material is made to deposit onto the object to be treated.
