Publication number: 20030044599Abstract: Provided is a wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which comprises, as a component A, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl pyrrolidone, a vinyl pyrrolidone.vinyl acetate copolymer, polyethylene oxide and the half ester of a methyl vinyl ether.maleic anhydride copolymer; as a component B, a liquid plasticizer compatible with the component A; and as a component C, a filler. The combination of the component C with components A and B makes it possible to provide a wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which exhibits tackiness in the presence of water or a hydrophilic medium, adheres well to the application site, dries speedily after adhesion, has high mechanical strength after drying and can be peeled off easily. The wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is therefore useful as a facial pack material such as peel-off pack for the removal of horny plugs formed in the skin pores or a skin covering material for the moist or wet skin surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 1999Publication date: March 6, 2003Inventors: TETSUJI SUGII, KATSUHIRO YAMAMOTO, MASAYUKI KONNO, TAKASHI KAWASAKI

Patent number: 6458379Abstract: A sheet for whitening cosmetics comprises a sheet-like substrate and an adhesive layer which comprises a wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition formed on the substrate. The whitening component includes vitamin C or its derivatives such as magnesium L-ascorbyl-2-phosphate, vitamin E nicotinate, kojic acid, hydroquinone, ellagic acid, albumin, galenical extracts, and rice bran extracts. Kojic acid and magnesium L-ascorbyl-2-phosphate are preferred. By contacting the adhesive layer with water and/or a hydrophilic medium such as alcohols, e.g., methanol, ethanol, etc., the wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition exhibits excellent stickiness and excellent applicability to skin as well as excellent whitening effect with alleviating or eliminating stains, freckles, non-transparency, etc. on the skin.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1999Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Nitto Denko CorporationInventors: Masayuki Konno, Takashi Kawasaki

Publication number: 20020081321Abstract: Disclosed is a gel sheet for cosmetics, comprising a sheet-like substrate having laminated thereon a hydrous gel sheet, in which the substrate comprises a gel non-impregnating layer and a gel impregnating layer and wherein said hydrous gel layer is provided on the gel non-impregnating layer. In a preferred embodiment, the gel sheet for cosmetics is produced by laminating a hydrous gel layer comprising polyacrylic acid or its salts, water, glycerin, etc. on a substrate comprising a transparent film laminated on a fiber layer, for example, polyethylene film/pulp (paper), polyester film/rayon unwoven fabric, or the like, heating the resulting composite at room temperature or higher temperatures for aging. The gel sheet for cosmetics is excellent in a feeling upon application, interlocking with the substrate, but not causes strike through. The gel sheet in a preferred embodiment gives an impression of transparency and is unattractive when it is applied to the skin.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 1999Publication date: June 27, 2002Inventors: MASAYUKI KONNO, TAKEAKI NAKAGAWA, TAKAKO UJIIE, TAKASHI KAWASAKI
