  • Patent number: 8255621
Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To provide a portable terminal designated for speeding up the startup time of a multiprocessor system which is configured to be started up by a program being transferred from a specific processor to another processor. [MEANS OF SOLVING PROBLEMS] As a storing pattern of a program to a memory (ROM) transferred to another processor, a header is given to each code section. The header stores information as to whether or not the section needs to be transferred in each startup mode and size information of the corresponding code section. The startup time for each mode is shortened by enabling to transfer only the necessary portion from the transfer source processor to the transfer destination processor for each startup mode.

  • Patent number: 7197300
Abstract: A mobile telephone (mobile communication terminal) (100) searches data sections (11-1 to 11n) of the address book (10) based on attribute information (ATTm) inputted by a user through an operation unit (207) in order to contact a desired communication counterpart to thereby retrieve identification information (ID, names) associated with the attribute information. Further, the mobile telephone (100) sets a telephone number or an e-mail address, which is associated with the retrieved identification information in the address book (10), as a destination of communication.

  • Patent number: 7187360
Abstract: A pointing device capable of generating a fixed control signal regardless of operated directions and preventing the generation of a control signal owing to malfunctions, and an electronic apparatus capable of moving a controlled object on a display screen in any direction at a velocity corresponding to an operated amount of an operating section. An original point is defined as a point where a slid distance of a slide key is 0. The maximum slid distance and the minimum slid distance are defined as max_max and min_max, respectively, when moving the slide key until it reaches the rim of an opening section. When the slide key is located within a circular area whose center is the original point and whose radius is n/N of max_max (n and N are arbitrary positive integers, and n<N), a calculating section determines the strength of a control signal as 0.

  • Patent number: 6792294
Abstract: It is constructed so that combinations of display colors or lighting patterns can be set from the outside by incoming notification means by light of a portable telephone apparatus. That is, incoming notification pattern data by a change in lighting colors and data of the tempo are stored in RAM 3, and data from the RAM 3 is held in an FIFO 8 and is outputted every tempo according to a read signal from an FIFO read signal generator 9, and also by generating an interruption at the time when a predetermined amount of data is outputted, a CPU 1 writes subsequent data from the RAM 3 to the FIFO 8 according to the interruption. Then, data read from the FIFO 8 is once held in an output port register 5 and an LED driver 6 independently drives plural LEDs according to data outputted from the output port register 5. In this case, it is constructed so that the data from the RAM 3 can be set from the outside.

  • Publication number: 20030058599
Abstract: An external device can generate data file in a predetermined data format by using editing capabilities. The contents of the file are transferred to the mobile telephone together with a control data depending on a format. A mobile telephone performs a new mail generation and transmission/storage processes according to the received command and code. The code of an ‘on-hook’ key can be transmitted at a start and an end of the code transmission to completely return the mobile telephone to the wait state. The mobile telephone performs the new mail generation and transmission/storage processes according to the received command and code.

  • Publication number: 20020045439
Abstract: A method, which enables a user of a cellular phone to send a desired message to the other party when making a telephone call, is provided. When a user make a telephone call by a cellular phone, audio data stored in a memory in advance or audio data that are converted from text downloaded from the outside by an e-mail receiving function etc. or text inputted by operating a keyboard are automatically reproduced after a prescribed period of time has passed from when the cellular phone receives a CONN signal that is sent from a base station corresponding to a reply of the other party. After the reproduced voice message is transmitted to the other party, the call is automatically terminated (disconnected).

  • Patent number: 5872518
Abstract: A wireless selective calling receiver performs an intermittent receiving operation in a channel lock state. The channel lock is canceled when a detected network information is judged to be different from the network information of the self receiver for a predetermined consecutive number of times. The channel lock is also canceled when such judgement is made and the detected network information remains the same at the time of the judgement.

  • Patent number: 5854592
Abstract: In a wireless selective calling receiver, after synchronization establishment, when a received frame synchronization signal or a received frame identifying signal fails to be detected, the intermittent receiving timing is determined based on an ideal frame identifying value which was produced at a preceding intermittent receiving timing. Further when the received frame identifying value is coincident with the ideal frame identifying value, the intermittent receiving timing is determined based on the ideal frame identifying value. And, a next ideal frame identifying value which should be received at a next intermittent receiving timing is produced based on the ideal frame identifying value and then is stored to be used at the next intermittent receiving timing.

  • Patent number: 5835508
Abstract: In order to transmit information data from a station to another station through a transmission channel, only the information data (a.sub.31 to a.sub.00, b.sub.31 to b.sub.00, etc) are transmitted when the channel has a good channel quality. When the channel quality is bad, error correction code words are composed for transmission by adding redundancy bits (A.sub.15 to A.sub.00, B.sub.15 to B.sub.00, etc) to the information data. When the channel quality is bad even with transmission of the code words, error correction code blocks are composed by interleaving information bits (a's, b's, etc) and the redundancy bits in a selected number of code words with the selected number increased from two depending on the channel quality. Alternatively, such data, words, or blocks are transmitted with a transmission rate adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5765104
Abstract: A receiver making an intermittent reception detects a synchronization error between a code word value of a radio signal and a count value of a word counter, when detecting a synchronizing signal contained in the radio signal. When the error is consecutively detected at a predetermined number of times, the receiver adjusts a time to supply power to the radio circuit on the basis of this error.

  • Patent number: 5495233
Abstract: In a radio paging receiver for receiving a pager signal comprising a succession of frames each of which consists of a first through n-th group of signals, a first clock generating unit generates a first clock signal having a first clock rate. A synchronization clock generating unit generates a synchronization clock signal which is synchronized with digital word data derived from a receiving section and which has a synchronization clock rate equal to the first clock rate. A selecting circuit selects one of the first clock signals and the synchronization clock signal as a selected clock signal. A counter carries out a counting operation by the use of the selected clock signal and produces a counted signal. Responsive to the counted signal, a control circuit produces a control signal to make a battery saving switch have an "on" state and to make the synchronization clock generating unit have an active state.

  • Patent number: 5444672
Abstract: A radio display pager receives a series of frames from a paging station synchronized to the seconds of the local standard time. Each frame contains a frame synchronizing signal and a frame position signal indicating the position of the frame within the series, each of the frames being synchronized with a local standard time of the paging station. A frame counter increments a count value in synchronism with the reception of each frame synchronizing signal and produces an output when the count value reaches a predetermined value. The frame counter is reset to an initial value in response to the reception of a predetermined frame position signal which occurs at 1-minute intervals. A time-keeping circuit counts locally generated clock pulses to display the time of day on a display unit. The time-keeping circuit is responsive to the output of the frame counter for calibrating the time of day to the local standard time.
