  • Publication number: 20020159624
Abstract: A radiation image is partitioned into a plurality of subregions. A certain subregion, which is among the plurality of the subregions, is set as a blackening region, which is to be subjected to a blackening process, or as a non-blackening region, which is not to be subjected to the blackening process. Subregions, which are adjacent to each other among the plurality of the subregions, are set alternately as a blackening region and a non-blackening region by taking the certain subregion as a reference subregion. The blackening process is performed on the subregion, which has thus been set as the blackening region.

  • Publication number: 20020135930
Abstract: A disk drive, a servo controller, and a controller which have realized high-degree control by lightening processing load to a microprocessor unit (MPU) without increasing cost is disclosed. An analog/digital (AD) converter (ADC) performs the AD conversions of the regenerated levels A, B, C, and D of burst patterns supplied from a channel and retains the converted levels in an ADC register. A servo assist (SA) computes parameters, such as the position error of a head, independently of an MPU, based on the regenerated levels of the burst patterns retained in the ADC register and an instruction from the MPU retained in a SRAM. Based on the computed parameters, the SA computes servo data (DACOUT) for driving a voice coil motor and supplies the servo data to the DAC section of a VCM driver section through a SIO.

  • Patent number: 6429704
Abstract: A power consumption reduction circuit includes a clock frequency downconverting circuit. The clock frequency downconverting circuit downconverts a frequency of a CK signal, which is inputted, when a POR signal inputted is asserted, and outputs the CK signal to an IC selection circuit. In addition, if the POR signal inputted is negated, the clock frequency downconverting circuit outputs the CK signal inputted as it is to the IC selection circuit. A signal outputted from the clock frequency downconverting circuit is supplied to a plurality of ICs through the IC selection circuit.

  • Patent number: 6356651
Abstract: Edge candidate points are detected with respect to radial straight lines, which have been set with respect to a predetermined point lying in a radiation image. A predetermined number of reference candidate lines are detected by the utilization of Hough transform with respect to the edge candidate points. It is determined that the region surrounded by the reference candidate lines is the irradiation field. The irradiation field on a radiation image is thereby recognized accurately. A blackening process is carried out on the region outside of the irradiation field, which has thus been determined.

  • Patent number: 6317510
Abstract: Information representing a template, which has an irradiation field shape determined by a collimation plate used in an operation for recording a radiation image to be processed, is stored. An irradiation field on the radiation image is defined in accordance with the template. The irradiation field may be defined by carrying out matching of the template and the radiation image with each other. A blackening process for a region outside of the thus defined irradiation field on the radiation image is then carried out. An appropriate blackening process is thereby carried out quickly.

  • Patent number: 6243485
Abstract: An image size reducing process is carried out on an original radiation image represented by an original image signal, and a reduced image signal representing a reduced image is thereby obtained. A process for recognizing the irradiation field is carried out on the reduced image signal representing the reduced image, which has been obtained from the reducing process, and a temporary irradiation field contour is thereby detected. An enlarging process is then carried out in order to enlarge the temporary irradiation field contour to a size corresponding to the size on the original radiation image, and an enlarged temporary irradiation field contour is thereby obtained. A degree of conformity of the enlarged temporary irradiation field contour to the original radiation image is evaluated by use of a predetermined evaluation function. An irradiation field contour, which has the highest degree of conformity, is determined in accordance with the results of the evaluation.

  • Patent number: 5809042
Abstract: An improvement in an interleave type error correction method in which more errors can be corrected with less correction codes is provided. Array patterns of code words constituting the information code is form by interleaving. The array patterns comprise a plurality of sequences of a plurality of code words. Correction codes are added to the sequences so that a total number of the correction codes added to a selected sequence is greater than a total number of the correction codes added to the other sequences. An error correction is executed in the selected sequence by identifying a position of an error as a consecutive error code position, when the selected sequence is determined to contain said error having a characteristic feature that the error extends over other sequences. A code word of a position corresponding to said consecutive error code position of the selected sequence among code words in the other sequences is recognized as an erasure.

  • Patent number: 5457787
Abstract: An interface circuit for a peripheral device is disclosed that can accurately cope with any host with the same hardware whether the host is in the pre-read mode or the post-read mode and can send an interrupt request to the host practically without a waiting time if the host is in the post-read mode. The interface circuit generates an interrupt request (IRQ) to a host in response to a data request (DRQ) from a peripheral device (HDD) and drops the interrupt request if the status of the peripheral device is read by the host; it detects that the host operates in a post-read mode, and responds to the post-read mode detect signal and the status reading by the host in order to enable the regeneration of the interrupt request to the host.
