    Abstract: Where two axes X and Y using the axial center position as the origin are set on a section orthogonal to the axial line of the distal end hard portion, the observation portion and the treatment equipment lead-out portion are disposed at both side positions between which the Y-axis is placed, the surface on which the solid-state image pickup device of the substrate is incorporated is disposed in a direction parallel to the X-axis, the center of the treatment equipment lead-out port is disposed between a plane parallel to the X-axis including the center of the optical axis of the object lens and a plane including the plane of the substrate, the line connecting the centers of both the illumination portions are roughly parallel to the Y-axis, and is drawn near the center of the optical axis of the object lens, and the distances between the center of the optical axis and both the illumination portions are made as equal to each other as possible.

    Abstract: A high frequency treatment tool comprises: a flexible sheath; a treatment tool main body comprising a flexible cord and an electrode, provided inside the flexible sheath; a stopper member attached inside the flexible sheath that disposes its front end face at almost the same position as a front end of the flexible sheath to form a front end reference face; an insertion hole formed to penetrate the stopper member, in which the electrode member is to be inserted; an operating section that reciprocates the electrode member between a state that the electrode member is stuck out from the front end reference face and a state that the electrode member is withdrawn into the insertion hole; a restricting member provided around a connecting portion between the flexible cord and the electrode member; and a fluid channel provided at the stopper member, for making a fluid to flow out from the front end face.

    Abstract: An endoscope system including a solid-state image pickup device having a photosensitive area and configured to produce an electronic image; an optical system having a focal length and configured to transmit an optical image of an object incident onto the photosensitive area; a superimposing device configured to superimpose on the electronic image produced by the solid-state image pickup device scale information according to the focal length of the optical system; and a display configured to display the electronic image and the superimposed scale information. The focal length of the optical system is variable by means of a lever operated wire connected to a lens of the optical system and disposed in an endoscope inserter. Thus, an operator can easily measure the length of the object based on the scale information superimposed on the displayed electronic image.
