  • Publication number: 20020000963
Abstract: A mobile terminal comprises a circuit for selectively setting one of two DUTY values, in a display timing generation circuit of a display drive circuit. A memory section includes a region information table storing a region including a position of the terminal, a commercial power frequency used in the region, and a command which is set in correspondence with the commercial power frequency. The stored region, commercial power frequency and set command correspond to position information of the terminal. The position information is acquired from a plurality of peripheral base stations to calculate the position of the terminal, when the terminal user performs resetting operations and the position registration procedures. The set command is read from the region information table in accordance with the position thus calculated. The set command is supplied to the display timing generation circuit, whereby one of two DUTY values is selected.

  • Patent number: 5118962
Abstract: Improvements to a power supply backup circuit used to backup the operation of a radio device or the like when a power supply therefor is interrupted. A reverse current preventing diode is connected such that its anode is connected to the junction point of a DC power source and a voltage stabilizing circuit and such that its cathode is connected to the stabilizing circuit. A transistor is provided which has a collector connected to the cathode of the diode, an emitter connected to one end of a capacitor, the other end of which is grounded, and a base connected to a DC power source via a first resistor, and which has a second resistor connected across the base and emitter thereof. A third resistor is further connected across the collector and emitter of the transistor.

  • Patent number: 5054053
Abstract: A speech recognition system that detects a similarity between each speech pattern which has already been registered in the system and a speech pattern newly generated in response to the user's utterance made while the system is in a registration mode. The system further provides to the user in the registration mode information representing the detected similarity. The speech recognition system may be incorporated into a telephone apparatus or a radio telephone apparatus, in which a call origination may be automatically made in response to the user's utterance.

  • Patent number: 5042063
Abstract: Telephone apparatus in which a call may be made in response to utterances of a user by speech recognition without manually dialing a telephone number. The telephone apparatus includes a storage device for storing a set of parameters corresponding to an expected speech signal, which are used for recognizing the user's subsequent utterance and/or for indicating differences between the utterance and the stored signal. The telephone apparatus further includes a storage device for storing the speech signal so that the stored speech signal can be reproduced. The reproduced speech signal is used to confirm the stored speech signal. The stored speech signal may be reproduced in response to a user's key operation when the telephone apparatus is in a confirmation mode and in response to a user's utterance when the telephone apparatus is in a registration or voice calling mode.

  • Patent number: 5027266
Abstract: This invention discloses a voltage generator circuit having a voltage regulator and a voltage generator for supplying voltage to a load. The voltage regulator is powered by a power source which supplies a first voltage level and the voltage regulator provides a regulated output at a second voltage level lower than the first voltage level. The voltage generator receives power from the regulated output and provides a multiplied output having a third voltage level. Therefore, any level of voltage between the first voltage level and the third voltage level is available to the load circuit. Since the voltage regulator supplies the voltage generator with power at a regulated level, the voltage level applied to the muliplier may be adjusted for conserving power.

  • Patent number: 5010577
Abstract: An electronic volume device of a chopper type in which a switching control unit thereof can be composed of a monolithic integrated circuit and which controls a quantity of attenuation of an analog signal input to the device by switching the analog signal at predetermined periods. A comparator compares the volume control data generated by a volume control data generator and the counts of a counter which counts clocks having a predetermined period to output a signal indicative of the result of the comparison. This signal controls a tri-state buffer, the output of which is used to switch the input signal.

  • Patent number: 4939769
Abstract: A cordless telephone system which allows, in addition to outside-line communication, extension communication between wire and wireless telephone sets and also which can prevent wiretapping of communication contents during the outside-line communication. The system comprises a first switch connecting a connection unit to a wire telephone circuit, a connector connecting the wire telephone set to a connection-unit terminal of the first switch, a second switch switchingly controlled by the connection unit to supply a predetermined DC current to the connection-unit terminal of the first switch, and a DC power source for outputting the predetermined DC current. Further provided in the system, in addition to the above arrangement, are a third switch connected as inserted between the connection-unit terminal of the first switch and a voice circuit of the connection unit and a fourth switch connected as inserted between the connection-unit terminal of the first switch and the connector.
