    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a semiconductor integrated circuit which controls the quality of an image and includes a viewer detector, a region specifier, and a controller. The viewer detector detects the number of viewer(s) watching the image and a gaze region being watched by the viewer within the image. If the number of viewers is plural, the region specifier specifies a local region of the image as a target region based on a plurality of gaze regions being watched by the viewers. The controller performs image quality control on the target region.

    Abstract: A sliding door locking system includes: a plurality of latch mechanisms including a front latch mechanism mounted on a front part of the sliding door; an outside handle mechanism disposed outwardly of a windowpane of the sliding door; and a remote control mechanism provided in the sliding door inwardly of the windowpane so as to exert on each of the latch mechanisms an operating force from the outside handle mechanism. A first transmission cable for transmitting the operating force from the outside handle mechanism extends to the front latch mechanism side while bypassing the windowpane. The first transmission cable and a second transmission which is cable for transmitting to the remote control mechanism an operating force transmitted from the first transmission cable to a relay lever, are coupled to the relay lever. The relay lever is pivotably supported in a casing of the front latch mechanism and positioned inwardly of the windowpane.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an encoding method and an encoding circuit, which consumes a reduced power at the variable length coding. This encoding circuit includes an EOB detector between a quantizer and an encoder, for detecting the rearmost non-zero quantized coefficients in a processing target block and outputting the position of the detected end as a control signal. The encoder performs a variable length coding process for the quantized coefficients up to the position indicated by the control signal, added an EOB code, and pauses the variable length coding process.
