  • Patent number: 6340014
Abstract: During a period from an engine start to activation of a catalytic emission control device, a direct injection spark ignition engine is operated in a stratified stoichiometric charge combustion mode under the control of an engine controller. In the stratified stoichiometric combustion mode, a fuel injection system carries out a direct cylinder injection on the compression stroke to produce a relatively rich stratified air fuel mixture closely around a spark plug, in a background of a relatively lean air fuel mixture produced homogeneously over the combustion chamber by a direct cylinder injection on the intake stroke or a port or passage injection on or before the intake stroke.

  • Patent number: 5960159
Abstract: A substrate processing apparatus includes a substrate supporting pedestal having an upper substrate supporting pedestal and a lower substrate supporting pedestal which are vertically stacked, an upper resistance heater provided above the upper substrate supporting pedestal so as to be opposite to the upper substrate supporting pedestal, and a lower resistance heater provided under the lower substrate supporting pedestal so as to be opposite to the lower substrate supporting pedestal. Each of the upper substrate supporting pedestal and the lower substrate supporting pedestal is capable of mounting a substrate or substrates in a substantially horizontal position, and the lower substrate supporting pedestal including an opening which exposes the substrate in its entirety or openings which expose the substrates in their entireties as viewed from under the lower substrate supporting pedestal.

  • Patent number: 5842952
Abstract: A control device of an automatic transmission comprises a controller which detects accel off caused by the release of accelerating owing to the accel stamping in which lock-up clutch is released, and which proceeds command which releases the operation thereof or releases temporally the operation thereof to an exhaust brake device when it is decided that the exhaust brake is in operation. When accel off is suddenly conducted at the time of accelerating in which the lock-up clutch is not engaged the phenomenon in which the speed ratio at the torque converter is prevented from occurring by releasing the exhaust brake by the controller. Accordingly, the engaging operation of the lock-up clutch is conducted easily and it is possible to let the engine brake work. When the down shift of the automatic transmission or accel off is conducted a the time of using the exhaust brake, it is possible to conduct the engagement, of the lock-up clutch easily and let the engine brake work effectively.

  • Patent number: 5444125
Abstract: An aminated polymer having excellent adhesion, printability, and compatibility in polymer blends or the like which are obtained by introducing an amino group, into an isotactic .alpha.-olefin polymer having an olefinic unsaturated bond at its terminus is disclosed. The terminal unsaturated isotactic or syndiotactic .alpha.-olefin polymer is obtained by polymerizing an .alpha.-olefin with a catalyst comprising the combination of a metallocene compound and an alumoxane, and the amino group is obtained by the amination of the terminal unsaturated group, by the addition of a compound containing the corresponding functional group to the unsaturated bond, or by the conversion of a precursor polymer containing a precursor of the functional group into a polymer containing the functional group desired.

  • Patent number: 5252677
Abstract: A functionalized polymer having excellent adhesion, printability, and compatibility in polymer blends or the like which are obtained by introducing an epoxy group, a hydroxyl group or a sulfonic group into a syndiotactic .alpha.-olefin polymer having an olefinic unsaturated bond at its terminus is disclosed. The terminal unsaturated syndiotactic .alpha.-olefin polymer is obtained by polymerizing an .alpha.-olefin with a catalyst comprising the combination of a metallocene compound and an alumoxane, and the functional groups are obtained by the oxidation, sulfonation or the like of the terminal unsaturated group, by the addition of a compound containing the corresponding functional group to the unsaturated bond, or by the conversion of a precursor polymer containing a precursor of the functional group into a polymer containing the functional group desired.
