    Abstract: A mold releasing agent comprising a silicon-containing compound represented by the formula:R.sup.1.sub.n SiR.sup.2.sub.4-nwherein R.sup.1 is ##STR1## (R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms), R.sup.2 is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, n is 3 or 4, and a silicon- and/or fluorine-containing compound having at least two hydroxyl groups or alkoxyl groups in one molecule. The mold releasing agent of the present invention is excellent in mold releasing property, has a long life, provides a good surface finishing of molded article, and has no influence on secondary processability.

These carbon fluoride partilces are obtainable by reacting carbon particles with fluorine at 350.degree. to 600.degree. C. for one minute to six hours.
