  • Patent number: 4862220
Abstract: This invention is to provide such a copying machine that when a copying operation is carried out, a document is placed on a document glass platen by an autodocument feeder, a copying paper having a size suitable for the document is automatically fed to a photo-receptor drum from one of plural cassettes, an image of the document is formed on the copying paper fed to the drum, and after the copying operation finishes, the document is discharged from the platen. If there is no copying paper having a size suitable for the document in the copying machine, the copying operation is interrupted. In the interruption of the operation, when a copying paper is manually fed from a manual paper feeding table in the machine, the copying operation starts again.

  • Patent number: 4849789
Abstract: An image duplicating apparatus having a document table for supporting a document sheet thereon divides an image area of the document into two sections and successively duplicates the respective images of the two sections onto two separate copy surfaces. Switches specify the ratio by which an image on the document sheet is to be magnified or reduced for. An image magnification/reduction lens unit responds to the switches for altering a currently established magnification or reduction ratio to the newly specified ratio of magnification or reduction. A control circuit controls the duplicating means so that, when the magnification or reduction ratio is altered prior to termination of the duplication of a first one of the two sections, a second one of the two sections is copied in the altered magnification or reduction ratio.

  • Patent number: 4847756
Abstract: A data transmission system includes a host CPU having an output terminal for repeatedly producing a predetermined number of data blocks in a predetermined sequence in a repeated manner. Each data block is defined by a sequence code for identifying each data block and specific data followed by the sequence code. A plurality of slave CPUs are provided. The host CPU is connected to each slave CPU through a bus structure for the mutual data transmission. Each slave CPU receives all the data blocks and selectively extracts only the necessary data for use in each slave CPU and produces data from its output terminal at a given period within one cycle of the predetermined sequence. The given period for one slave CPU differs from that of another slave CPU, thereby transmitting data to the host CPU without any interferences.

  • Patent number: 4837599
Abstract: A copying apparatus, having an editing function, charges a rotating photoconductive drum 61 by chargers 63 and 65 and forms an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductive drum 61 by projecting an image of a document on the drum 61, whereby the electrostatic latent image is developed by toner. An erasure array 4 including LED elements is provided close to the photoconductive drum 61. In an edit copy mode, data for specifying a region to be copied on the document is inputted by using keys on an operation panel. As a result, the erasure array 4 removes the electric charge on a region of the photoconductive drum 61 corresponding to the specified region prior to exposure, whereby the electrostatic latent image can be prevented from being formed on this region.

  • Patent number: 4831414
Abstract: A copying apparatus of the present invention is capable of executing, for example, a duplex-simplex copy mode wherein images on both sides of an original are respectively copied on one side of a different copy paper and a simplex-simplex copy mode wherein an original with an image on one side is copied to one side of a single copy paper. The copying apparatus is further capable of executing a shift mode for controlling the relative position between the images on the original and those on the copy paper if the original represents a binding margin in the duplex-simplex copy mode. This shift mode is released when the simplex-simplex copy mode is selected.

  • Patent number: 4816867
Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine comprising a document supporting glass plate for supporting an original document thereon, an optical system for scanning the document on the document supporting glass plate, a photoreceptor drum for recording the image of the document scanned by the optical system, and timing rollers for feeding copying paper to which the image on the photoreceptor drum is transferred. The document supporting glass plate defines a reference position with respect to a direction of scanning by the optical system. The timing rollers are controllable such that the image present on the photoreceptor drum when the optical system scans the reference position is transferred to a central position of the copying paper with respect to a copying paper feed direction.

  • Patent number: 4811053
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a presettable counter and a display device for displaying the contents of the counter, in such arrangement that when copying operation is carried out in the automatic paper feed mode, the content of the counter is decreased by "1" at a time, and when copying is made in the manual paper feed mode, the content of the counter is increased by "1" at a time. For operation in the automatic feed mode, as is the case with the prior-art arrangement, a required number of copies to be made is preset into the counter and the remaining necessary number of copies to be made is displayed on the display device. When operation is performed in the manual feed mode, the number of copies already made is preset in the counter, and when the contents of the counter reaches the required total number of copies, paper feeding will be stopped.
