    Abstract: An assembly of a pneumatic tire and a wheel rim in which the tire is provided unitedly with at least one ring-formed projection area to the outside of the rolling axis direction of the tire and adjacent the rim flange, whereby safety and durability are maintained without causing the bead areas to separate from the rim when the tire is "run flat." The projection area is disposed and formed adjacent the rim flange at a specified diameter difference, and the bead area inward of the tire is formed at a specified inclination. Further, the projection area is reinforced circumferentially with a reinforcing material and has a rigid part comprising a high modulus rubber compound.
