  • Publication number: 20240101100
Abstract: Intelligent battery depletion techniques for a range-extended electrified vehicle (REEV) include receiving at least (i) a state of charge (SOC) of a battery system of the REEV and (ii) a distance for a trip of the REEV, controlling an electrified powertrain (engine and electric motor) of the REEV to generate a drive torque to satisfy a driver torque request, based on at least the battery system SOC and the trip distance, determining, an optimized charge depletion or allocation profile for the trip for powering the electric motor/battery system, and controlling the electrified powertrain based on the blended charge depletion or allocation profile until the trip distance has been reached or the battery system SOC reaches a desired minimum level, and then transitioning to a charge sustaining mode where the engine generates the drive torque and maintains the battery system SOC at the desired minimum level.

  • Publication number: 20230139940
Abstract: A retractable drill chuck system that is capable of being attached to a drill and drill bit; it can detect the initial breakthrough of the drill bit in a material and is capable of retracting the drill bit right as the drill bit breaks through the material; it has torque, force, and acceleration sensors to detect the breakthrough event of a drill bit; it also has an electromechanical mechanism to retract the drill bit from the material once the breakthrough event has been detected by the system; the retraction mechanism has a permanent magnet holding solenoid that, when activated, releases stored mechanical energy to allow the drill bit to be retracted.

  • Publication number: 20220119012
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can detect an occurrence of a condition in an environment based on sensor data captured by a vehicle. A determination is made whether the occurrence of the condition satisfies a threshold associated with a likelihood that a behavior associated with an object in the environment will occur based on an interaction between the condition and the object, wherein the likelihood is based on prior observations of one or more objects. Subsequent to determining that the threshold is satisfied, a vehicle operation that is associated with the likelihood that the behavior associated with the object will occur is performed.

  • Patent number: 11299357
Abstract: A transfer system for removing articles from trays includes a supply conveyor and a discharge conveyor A separation and transfer arrangement, including an article transport member, is interposed between a downstream end of the supply conveyor and an upstream end of the article discharge conveyor. The article transport member. Which may be a vacuum conveyor, acts on an upper end defined by each article to suspend the articles therebelow, and advances the articles from the downstream end of the supply conveyor to the upstream end of the discharge conveyor, which are at generally the same elevation. A tray transport member extends from the downstream end of the supply conveyor, and advances the trays downwardly in an upstream-to-downstream direction so that the trays are positioned below the upstream end of the discharge conveyor as the articles are deposited on the upstream end of the discharge conveyor by the article transport member.

  • Publication number: 20210405641
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein may involve a computing system that is operable to (i) identify, within a given period of operation of a vehicle having an associated sensor system for capturing sensor data, one or more times when the vehicle was driving in a lane having substantially-straight lane geometry, (ii) for each identified time, determine a respective measure of a lateral offset between the vehicle's associated sensor system and a lateral reference point of the vehicle, and (iii) based on the respective measure of the lateral offset that is determined for each of the one or more identified times, determine the lateral offset between the vehicle's associated sensor system and the lateral reference point of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20140324997
Abstract: Methods, computer readable media, and apparatuses for enhanced message handling are presented. A first message may be sent to a first identity. Thereafter, a second message may be sent to a second identity. Alternatively, a first message may be received from a first identity, and a second message may be received from a second identity. In either case, in response to determining, based on local address book data, that the first identity and the second identity are both associated with a first person, the first message and the second message may be displayed in a single conversation window. Subsequently sent and/or received messages may be similarly aggregated into the conversation window based on such messages being to and/or from one or more identities of the same person. Additionally, these subsequently aggregated messages may be sent and/or received via different communication services, such as email, SMS, and/or social networking services.

  • Publication number: 20140250440
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for managing storage data input/output in a compute environment. The system receives data associated with workload or jobs that is to be processed in a compute environment. The system receives more data associated with a job that is to be scheduled to consume compute resources in the compute environment. Based on all the received data, the system transmits a signal to a storage input/output manager. The signal instructs the storage/output manager regarding how to manage a file transfer between the compute environment and a storage environment. The file transfer is associated with processing the job in the compute environment.
