  • Patent number: 11976740
Abstract: A compact valve block for a chemical container wherein the coaxial valve block has a housing that can accommodate three valve control mechanisms thus allowing for quick and effective purging without the need for an additional external conduit, valves, and coaxial injector. The advantage is a greatly reduced amount of wetted surface area inside the valve block leading to a significant decrease in the time it takes to purge a system thus allowing for quicker times to change chemical containers.

  • Publication number: 20230329775
Abstract: A knife driving assembly that can advance and retract a knife along a knife blade pathway defined by the jaws of the surgical instrument regardless of continuous rotation of the shaft and jaws. The assembly includes a housing having a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and supporting to a pair of jaws that define a knife pathway and a lever pivotally mounted to housing and extending into the housing. A knife actuator is coupled to the lever at a first end and to a bearing sleeve at a second end. A drive shaft is secured to the bearing sleeve and extends within the shaft to move a knife along the knife pathway in response to movement of the bearing sleeve. As a result, the main shaft, and the drive shaft, may be rotated through 360 degrees with movement of lever capable of moving the knife.

  • Patent number: 11696798
Abstract: A vessel sealing device having a pair of electrodes that are maintained in spaced apart configuration when closed by non-uniform coating formed from a non-conductive material that has been applied to roughened electrodes so that the coating allows for the passage of a predetermined amount of radiofrequency (RF) energy between the electrodes. The coating has a predetermined thickness that spaces the electrodes apart while also having the predetermined non-uniformity that allows RF energy to pass between the electrodes when a vessel is trapped therein, thus desiccating the vessel positioned in the jaws. The electrodes may include a series of grooves in a herringbone pattern, with each electrode having the pattern oriented in the same direction or in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 11593902
Abstract: A digital platform enables 3D printing where the designs are protected from piracy/redistribution. A single board computer (SBC) communicates with a first server and a second server. The SBC requests a unique hardware ID from the first server, which assigns and sends the ID to the SBC. The SBC submits the ID and a secret key to the second server to request registration of a user and a printer, and the second server sends private certs, a client ID, and a unique public identifier to the SBC. The second server also receives and stores 3D print designs through a designer portal, and on-demand displays the designs in a GUI screen. The SBC user may purchase a 3D print design, and the second server, in response, sends an access token to the SBC.

  • Publication number: 20230035105
Abstract: A paper product having improved printing characteristics and a method of making the paper product. This paper product has a fibrous substrate and top layer of surface enhanced pulp fibers that is integrally coupled to the top surface of the fibrous substrate. The paper product is produced by providing an aqueous slurry formed from a blend of cellulosic fibers and water and at least partially dewatering the aqueous slurry of cellulosic fibers and water to form the fibrous substrate. Subsequently, a surface treatment formed from an aqueous composition of water and surface enhanced pulp fibers is applied to the top surface of the fibrous substrate and thereafter the treated fibrous substrate is dried to form a paper product having enhanced printing characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20220273390
Abstract: A force limiting apparatus for a surgical instrument to prevent too much force being applied to the jaws of the instrument. The instrument has a body with a drive shaft coupled to a pair of jaws, a bearing tube secured to the drive shaft, and a pair of tracks carrying a pivot pin that is biased into one end of the track. A lever is coupled to the pivot pin and abuts the bearing tube to move the bearing tube and close the jaws when squeezed by a user. If the lever is over actuated, the pivot pin will slide along the track against the bias of the spring assembly with the lever pivoting about the bearing tube rather than the pivot pin. As a result, the additional movement of lever does not result in any addition force being transmitted to the drive shaft via the bearing tube.

  • Publication number: 20220015788
Abstract: A surgical instrument having a housing, an outer shaft extending from the housing along a longitudinal axis, an inner shaft extending within the outer shaft along the longitudinal axis, a rotator knob position about the outer shaft, and a tube stop coupling the rotator knob to the outer shaft for collective rotation about the longitudinal axis and fixed within the housing against movement along the longitudinal axis. The tube stop has a pair of bearing surfaces that extend into a pair of longitudinal tracks of the outer shaft, and the rotator knob includes a pair of rails that extend into the pair of tracks of the outer shaft and block the tube stop exiting the tracks. The tube stop is captured between a pair of ribs in the housing to hold the tube stop in place while allowing the rotator knob to rotate the outer shaft.

  • Publication number: 20210393318
Abstract: A continuous rotation assembly that may be positioned in the housing of an electrosurgical device to maintain electrical continuity between an electrosurgical power source and an electrosurgical implement positioned at the end of a rotatable shaft. A stator is positioned about the shaft and fixed against rotation and includes a pair of rings that are electrically isolated from each other. A rotor having first and second sets of pins that are electrically isolated from each other is positioned about the shaft and rotatable therewith. The pins are positioned to stay contact with the pair of rings as the shaft and rotor rotate. A first pair of wires couples the pins to the electrosurgical implement. A second pair of wires couples the pair of rings to an electrosurgical power source, thereby providing power to the implement even if the shaft is rotated continuously.

  • Publication number: 20210085418
Abstract: A force limiting assembly for a surgical instrument that has a handle and a lever pivotally mounted to the handle at a pivot point for movement of an internal drive shaft. The lever is coupled to the drive shaft by a cantilever spring that is positioned within the lever. The free end of the cantilever is spaced apart from the pivot point of the lever and coupled to the drive shaft via stops positioned on the drive shaft on either side of the free end of the cantilever spring. As the lever is pivoting by a user, the forces move the drive shaft and bias the cantilever spring, thereby reducing and ultimately limiting the amount of force that a user may apply to the drive shaft via operation of the lever.
