  • Publication number: 20240062749
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present technical solution enable a multi-modal interface for voice-based devices, such as digital assistants. The solution can enable a user to interact with video and other content through a touch interface and through voice commands. In addition to inputs such as stop and play, the present solution can also automatically generate annotations for displayed video files. From the annotations, the solution can identify one or more break points that are associated with different scenes, video portions, or how-to steps in the video. The digital assistant can receive input audio signal and parse the input audio signal to identify semantic entities within the input audio signal. The digital assistant can map the identified semantic entities to the annotations to select a portion of the video that corresponds to the users request in the input audio signal.

  • Publication number: 20230283864
Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for facilitating interaction with content using interactive effects. The techniques comprise receiving a video from a first computing device associated with a first user among a plurality of users. The video is generated using an interactive effect. The interactive effect comprises overlaying at least one component on at least one subset of frames of the video. The interactive effect enables the video to be interacted with other users among the plurality of users. The video is presented on a second computing device associated with a second user among the plurality of users. The video comprises information indicative of instructions on how to interact with the video. Display of an animation associated with the at least one component may be automatically caused on the second computing device in response to receiving an indication of interacting with the video by the second user.

  • Patent number: 10332046
Abstract: A social collaboration workflow system embeds social collaboration functionality into the workflow process. The system identifies a location of a user device, and identifying a current activity associated with the user device based on the identified location. The system displays instructions for performing the current activity to a user interface on the user device, and displays an activity feed comprising a set of previously submitted activity feed posts that are related to the current activity to the user interface. The system determines whether the current activity has changed to a new current activity. If the current activity has changed, the system displays instructions for performing the new current activity to the user interface, and displays a new set of previously submitted activity feed posts that are related to the new current activity to the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20120185275
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-coded software instructions are provided for automated data analysis using graph topology techniques in a connections-mapping process to automatically identify interrelationships between various data fields in a system or body of data followed by statistical pattern analysis and machine learning techniques applied on the graphs (e.g., hidden networks) identified to improve analyses (e.g., automated analysis of medical bills and health insurance documents). Automated conversion of paper-based medical and insurance billing records to electronic data is provided, along with automatic correlation of medical services data to insurance plan policies and tax regulations for health benefits to detect errors or fraud, and to project health insurance plans for various subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20120072530
Abstract: A method for accessing content through multiple devices, e.g. Telephone (1) and/or a data device (4) such as a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or Web Enabled Mobile Phone, is discussed where a user can initiate interaction with data through any device (mode), and then switch to another mode of interaction without starting over. The discussed method also allows a user to return to the same point in an application where a call session was lost or intentionally disengaged before completion. The user can regain access to the original call session via any telecommunications (voice or non-voice) device. Access can be accomplished whether the device is the same or different from that used for the original session.

  • Patent number: 7283973
Abstract: A voice-enabled system for online content access and delivery provides a voice and telephony interface, as well a text and graphic interface, for browsing and accessing requested content or shopping over the Internet using a browser or a telephone. The system allows customers to access an online data application, search for desired content items, select content items, and finally pay for selected items using a credit card, over a phone line or the Internet. A telephony-Internet interface converts spoken queries into electronic commands for transmission to an online data application. Markup language-type pages transmitted to callers from the online data application are parsed to extract selected information. The selected information is then reported to the callers via audio messaging. A voice-enabled technology for mobile multi-modal interaction is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060026206
Abstract: A voice-optimized database system and method of audio vector valuation (AVV) provides means to search a database in response to a spoken query. Audio vectors (AVs) are assigned to phonemes in the names or phrases constituting searchable items in a voice-optimized database and in spoken queries. Multiple AVs can be stored which correspond to different pronunciations of the same searchable items to allow for less precision on the part telephone callers when stating their queries. A distance calculation is performed between the audio vectors of database items and spoken queries to produce search results. Existing databases can be enhanced with AVV. Several alternate samples of a spoken query are generated by analyzing the phonemic string of the spoken query to create similar, alternate phonemic strings. The phonemic string of the spoken query and the alternate phonemic strings are converted to text and used to search the database.

  • Patent number: 5822420
Abstract: A protocol for multilink access network-local exchange (AN-LE) interfaces is provided for common channel signaling on all AN-LE links and the transfer of calls and control to operational links upon detection of a link failure. The protocol permits the AN to assign channels on an AN-LE link and is error-tolerant and self-aligning.

  • Patent number: 5778059
Abstract: A distributed, predictive, event-driven processing environment is provided for controlling a number of elements characterized by different states and events. Transitions between states are reflected by predictive, event-driven, independent functions provided in the action subroutines and do not require state searches associated with fixed state machines. Action subroutines can be grouped together in various service groups which require similar event processing. Service groups are invoked by an action subroutine manager which can also access a application programming interface set. Processing of different elements can be spread across multiple processors or a single processor with the action subroutines having no knowledge of the number of processors.
