    Abstract: A method for depositing a layer of material on a metallic support for fuel cells or electrolysis cells includes the steps of preparing the surface of the metallic support, preparing an apparatus for an electrolytic bath, with the relative actuation means of the apparatus, including an aqueous solution with the cations necessary to obtain at least one material, dipping the metallic support into the electrolytic bath, and commanding the actuation means of the electrolytic bath so as to selectively carry out the electrochemical deposition of at least one layer of material on the metallic support, the layer of material includes an anti-corrosion protective ceramic material and/or a ceramic material with catalytic properties.

    Abstract: A multilayer silver halide color photographic element comprises a support having coated thereon a silver antihalation layer, an interlayer, at least two red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, at least two green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers a yellow filter layer, and at least two blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, wherein the interlayer provided between the silver antihalation layer and the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer closest to the support contains a bleach accelerator releasing compound, and the silver antihalation layer contains a water-soluble organic thiol.The invention provides reduction in residual silver levels and backside turbidity after processing, without deleteriously affecting sensitometric properties of the photographic element.

    Abstract: A process for preparation of 4-mercapto-1-naphthol compounds which comprises the steps of:(i) obtaining a 4-heterocyclylthio-1-naphthol compound by reacting a 1-naphthol compound with a heterocyclylsulfur chloride or by reacting a 4-iodo-1-naphthol compound with an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a mercaptoheterocyclic compound,(ii) hydrolyzing the resulting 4-heterocyclylthio-1-naphthol compound in the presence of a base to form a reaction product, and(iii) acidifying said reaction product.The resulting compounds are useful as intermediates in the synthesis of bleach accelerator releasing couplers for use in silver halide color photographic materials.
