  • Patent number: 9288308
Abstract: The method for terminating an operation of a CPE device, which comprises a front-end component for an xDSL connection of a Central Office Equipment supplying a multitude of customers, comprises the steps of: sending a power loss information to the Central Office Equipment in case of a power loss or a switch-off operation of the CPE device and powering the front-end component for a predetermined time to avoid a termination impedance change of the front-end component, by keeping the supply power up for the front-end component, to keep the termination impedance stable as long as necessary for the Central Office Equipment to avoid introduction of non-cancelled crosstalk, which may arise in xDSL connections of other customers.

  • Patent number: 9232073
Abstract: The invention defines a method for providing an xDSL broadband transmission service between a central office and a customer premises equipment which comprises the steps: initiating a handshaking procedure between the central office and the customer premises equipment, determining an xDSL transmission standard for providing the xDSL broadband transmission service, utilizing a non standard information field during the handshaking procedure to indicate a support of a non-standard mode between the central office and the customer premises equipment, and initiating the non-standard mode, in case no synchronization is established between the central office and the customer premises equipment after the handshaking procedure.

  • Publication number: 20120039373
Abstract: The present invention concerns a digital subscriber line modem and a method at the modem for optimizing network parameters used for data transmission between a Digital Subscriber Line modem and a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer, comprising the steps of receiving at least one physical transmission control parameter from the Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer, getting local parameters entered at the modem, the local parameters indicating the type of service transmitted between the Digital Subscriber Line modem and a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer, obtaining minimum Target Service Bit Rate based on the local parameters and optimizing the Impulse Noise Protection value and the interleaving Delay value according to the minimum Target Service Bit Rate, based on the local parameters and the at least one physical transmission control parameter.
