  • Patent number: 9086027
Abstract: A hysteresis-type electronic controlling device is provided for fuel injectors that includes, but is not limited to a power driving unit for driving the fuel injectors with an electric signal, a control stage connected to the power driving unit and a sensing stage fed by the power driving unit and feeding the control stage, the device has a feedback frequency control stage for measuring a waveform period of the signal feeding the fuel injectors; the feedback frequency control stage is fed by the control stage with an electric signal. A fuel injector control method is also provided that includes, but is not limited to driving fuel injectors with an electric signal coming from a power driving unit fed by a control stage , sensing the signal with a sensing stage, and measuring a waveform period of the signal through the feedback frequency control stage.

  • Patent number: 8265894
Abstract: A method is provided for estimating the temperature in an internal combustion engine. The method includes, but is not limited to the steps of providing a sensor resistor (RTD) in the internal combustion engine, the sensor resistor (RTD) having a predetermined resistance-temperature characteristic, measuring a sensor voltage (VRTD) across the sensor resistor (RTD), calculating a resistance value of the sensor resistor (RTD) based on the sensor voltage (VRTD) and estimating the temperature using the resistance value and the resistance-temperature characteristic. The method further comprises the steps of connecting, in series to the sensor resistor (RTD), a first branch of a current mirror arrangement, connecting a reference resistor (R0) in series to a second branch of the current mirror arrangement, measuring a reference voltage (V0) across the reference resistor (R0) and calculating the resistance value of the sensor resistor (RTD) based on the sensor voltage (VRTD) and the reference voltage (V0).

  • Publication number: 20110146624
Abstract: A fuel delivery injection system that includes, but is not limited to a fuel tank connected to a high pressure fuel pump. The fuel is pumped from the pump and distributed to direct acting piezoelectric injectors by means of a distribution hydraulic circuit. An electronic control unit controls the pump, the injectors and receives the pressure indications from a control valve associated to said distribution circuit. The distribution circuit includes, but is not limited to a small distribution rail having a volume of about 4-6 cm3 and the pipes connecting the rail to the injectors having a dimension of about 3 mm or slightly higher.
