Patent number: 9392648Abstract: A method for controlling an induction heating cooking apparatus, comprises the steps of a) transforming a supply current (Iin) having a base frequency, for example 50 Hz or 60 Hz, into an induction current (Iw) having a higher frequency than the base frequency of the supply current, b) feeding the induction current into at least one inductor of the induction heating cooking apparatus to generate a magnetic induction field, c) detecting a deviation or distortion of the actual shape or frequency spectrum of the supply current or a rectified supply current from a predetermined admissible shape or frequency spectrum lying outside of a pre-given tolerance range, d) adapting the induction current or the electrical power associated with the induction current until the detected deviation or distortion of the actual shape or frequency spectrum of the supply current or a rectified supply current from the predetermined shape or frequency spectrum lies within the pre-given tolerance range again.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2010Date of Patent: July 12, 2016Assignee: ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS CORPORATION N.V.Inventors: Laurent Jeanneteau, Svend Erik Christiansen, Alex Viroli, Massimo Zangoli, Thibaut Rigolle, Mario Barocci

Patent number: 9012820Abstract: A method for dynamic wave form correction includes providing an input power signal by an AC power source and rectifying the input power signal by a frequency converter into a half waves signal whose half wave is delimited by two subsequent zero-crossings. The time lag between the two zero-crossings defines a half wave duration. The frequency converter converts the half waves signal into a working current signal for supplying an induction heating device. In a frequency shifting operation, the frequency of the working signal is first increased from a first base frequency to a maximum frequency, and is then decreased to a second base frequency different from the first base frequency within a time period smaller than the half wave duration. A zero crossing of the half wave signal is passed within the frequency shifting operation. An arrangement for dynamic wave form correction of a power supply is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2009Date of Patent: April 21, 2015Assignee: Electrolux Home Products Corporation N.V.Inventors: Erik Svend Christiansen, Laurent Jeanneteau, Alex Viroli, Massimo Zangoli, Thibaut Rigolle, Michael Herzog

Patent number: 8779338Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for controlling a cooking device, in particular an induction hob. The method comprises the steps of activating an overload power (POVER) for at least one electric or electronic component of the cooking device by using at least two synchronized generators, which overload power (POVER) is greater than a standard maximum power (PMAX), deactivating the overload power (POVER) after a predetermined period (?t), and operating the cooking device at a power (P), which is at most the standard maximum power (PMAX). The standard maximum power (PMAX) is provided for a permanent operation of the cooking device. The overload power (POVER) and/or the period (?t) are determined by a function depending on at least the overload power (POVER) and the period (?t). The present invention relates further to a corresponding apparatus for controlling a cooking device, in particular an induction hob.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2008Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: Electrolux Home Products Corporation N.V.Inventors: Laurent Jeanneteau, Erik Svend Christiansen, Thibaut Rogolle, Massimo Zangoli, Mario Barocci

Publication number: 20120312803Abstract: The present invention relates to an induction hob with a cooking surface (10) and a number of induction coils (12; 16, 18) within said cooking surface (10). The induction coils (12; 16, 18) are arranged on the cooking surface (10) according to predetermined scheme, so that at least two induction coils (12; 16, 18) can be covered by a standard cooking vessel (14). Each induction coil (12; 16, 18) is connected to at least one induction generator being switched or switchable between a high power and a low power. Each induction generator is separately controllable, so that the induction coils (12; 16, 18) are switched or switchable between the high power and the low power. At least one control unit is provided for controlling the individual induction coils (12; 16, 18) according to a predetermined time pattern. Further, the present invention relates to a corresponding method for controlling the induction hob.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2010Publication date: December 13, 2012Applicant: ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS CORPORATION N.V.Inventors: Laurent Jeanneteau, Thibaut Rigolle, Massimo Zangoli, Svend Erik Christiansen
