  • Patent number: 5149839
Abstract: Silane coupling agents and a method of preparing the coupling agents are provided in which a silane coupling agent is prepared by reacting 2.3 to 4.0 mols of a haloalkylalkoxysilane with 1 mol of a diamine having N atoms to which 4 active hydrogen atoms are bound, by reacting 1.3 to 3.0 mols of a haloalkylalkoxysilane with 1 mol of a diamine having N atoms to which 3 active hydrogen atoms are bound and to which one alkylsilyl group is bound, or by reacting 0.3 to 2.0 mols of a haloalkylalkoxysilane with 1 mol of a diamine having N atoms to which 2 active hydrogen atoms are bound and to which 2 alkylsilyl groups are bound. In addition, a silane coupling agent may be prepared by reacting the diamine with a haloalkylalkoxysilane and a halomethylstyrene.

  • Patent number: 4564557
Abstract: A thermoset acrylic resin composition for coating metallic materials, particularly stainless steel, having a superior adhesion thereonto and hence a superior resistance to forming after coated, and a stainless steel piece coated with a coating material comprising the above composition, followed by baking, and having a superior colorability and endurability, are provided, which composition is obtained by radical-copolymerizing (a) an acrylic or methacrylic acid ester having 1-12 C in the ester moiety, in 40-80% by weight, (b) a hydroxyl group- or epoxy group-containing acrylic or methacrylic acid ester, in 20-5% by weight, (c) a vinyl group-containing polysiloxane in 20-0.01% by weight and (d) a vinyl group-containing silane compound in 20-2% by weight, these % by weight being based on the total weight of monomers (a)-(d).

  • Patent number: 4309558
Abstract: A method for producing mono-substituted dichlorosilanes selectively with a high yield from dichlorosilane is provided. According to this method, dichlorosilane and a specified compound having a double bond at .alpha.-position are reacted in the presence of a catalyst which is a homogeneous complex of ruthenium, rhodium, nickel or platinum, and a phosphine compound, or is a ruthenium chloride.
