    Abstract: A solid state image sensor of a frequency interleave system, operable in the field storage mode, has color filters formed on a picture element portions of a solid state image sensing element. The filters are selected to have such spectral characteristics as to reduce the difference in luminance sensitivities to white light among the picture element portions, resulting in reduced luminance aliasing distortion. Demodulated components of an interleaved signal are generated in the form of signals which are nearly color difference signals, enabling simplification of the signal processing circuit.
