  • Patent number: 6140268
Abstract: A thermal transfer image receiving sheet is provided which causes none of offset of an antistatic agent, transfer of the antistatic agent onto a carrier roll of a thermal transfer printer, a lowering in whiteness of the thermal transfer image receiving sheet, and a remarkable lowering in coating strength under high humidity environment and possesses excellent and stable antistatic properties. The thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprises: a substrate sheet; a dye-receptive layer provided on at least one side of the substrate sheet; and a conductive layer as at least one layer provided between the substrate sheet and the receptive layer or as at least one layer provided on the substrate sheet in its side remote from the receptive layer. The conductive layer contains a conductive needle crystal.

  • Patent number: 5672563
Abstract: The present invention provides a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet capable of forming an image excellent in various types of fastness, particularly in light fastness, maintaining the effect of the ultraviolet absorber during the storage without deterioration and stably existing within a dye-receiving layer through the use of a thermal transfer process wherein use is made of a sublimable dye. The thermal transfer image-receiving sheet of the present invention includes a substrate sheet and a dye-receiving layer formed on at least one surface of the substrate sheet, wherein a layer containing an ultraviolet absorber is provided between the substrate sheet and the dye-receiving layer.

  • Patent number: 5607808
Abstract: A liquid toner and an ink composition, which comprise a dispersion of copolymer resin particles composed of at least two different monomer components in a dispersion medium. The copolymer resin particles and the dispersion medium are related to each other such that the difference .DELTA..delta..sup.1 between the solubility parameter value .delta.p.sup.1 of a homopolymer composed only of at least one monomer component in the copolymer resin and the solubility parameter value .delta.s.sup.1 of the dispersion medium is not smaller than 1.0, and that the difference .DELTA..delta..sup.2 between the solubility parameter value .delta.p.sup.2 of a homopolymer composed only of at least one other monomer component and the solubility parameter value .delta.s.sup.1 of the dispersion medium is not larger than 1.0, and further that the difference .DELTA. between .DELTA..delta..sup.1 and .DELTA..delta..sup.2 (.DELTA..delta..sup.1 -.DELTA..delta..sup.2) is at least 0.5.
