  • Patent number: 10604372
Abstract: A sheet stacking device includes: a sheet discharge unit; a sheet stacking unit; a pair of cursors; and a control unit. The cursors perform widthwise alignment processing in which the cursors contact lateral end surfaces of the sheet to perform widthwise alignment. The control unit, before a leading end of the sheet reaches a sheet stacking surface, executes sheet guiding processing in which the cursors are positioned at a sheet guiding position to contact a bottom surface of the sheet and guide the sheet toward the sheet discharge direction. The control unit, when the leading end of the sheet passes a predetermined position, positions the cursors at a retracted position that is further outward than the lateral end surfaces of the sheet are, and once a trailing end of the sheet passes through the sheet discharge unit and the sheet is placed on the tray, executes the widthwise alignment processing.

  • Patent number: 10277761
Abstract: An image reading device includes a loading plate, a frame, a scanner, a flat cable, and a holding member. The scanner includes a reading mechanism that extends in a main scanning direction and reciprocates in a sub-scanning direction on the side of a bottom surface opposite to an upper surface on which a document on the loading plate in the frame is loaded. The flat cable extends in the frame so that a width direction of the flat surface follows a direction orthogonal to the bottom surface of the loading plate. The holding member reciprocates together with the scanner and holds a part of the flat cable from the side on a main surface of the frame.

  • Patent number: 10264150
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a contact glass, a frame in a box shape, a scanner, a flat cable, and a control unit. The flat cable contains core wires and has a flat shaped flat surface. The flat cable runs inside the frame such that a width direction of the flat surface runs along a direction perpendicular to the lower surface of the contact glass. The flat cable has a side that opposes to the lower surface of the contact glass. The side includes a plurality of document detection sensors in a state where detection directions face the lower surface side of the contact glass. The plurality of document detection sensors are electrically connected to any of the core wires among the plurality of core wires contained in the flat cable, the plurality of document detection sensors outputting detection signals transmitted to the control unit via the core wires.

  • Patent number: 10178272
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a reservation managing unit receives a reservation request from a mobile terminal device of a user, and registers reservation information. The reservation information indicates (a) a usage time zone specified by the received reservation request and (b) the mobile terminal device. The operation restriction unit changes an operation control mode from an operation permission mode to an operation prohibition mode if (a) the mobile terminal device detected by a terminal detecting unit is a mobile terminal device of a reserving user who reserved as the usage time zone a current or a next time zone and (b) there are no currently using users. The operation permission mode is a status where an operation of an unspecified user can be received, and the operation prohibition mode is a status where a user operation is prohibited until a release operation of the reserving user.

  • Patent number: 10015336
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a document table, an image reading portion, a cover portion, a presser sheet, and a sheet winding portion. The presser sheet is provided on the cover portion, and contacts the document on the document table when the cover portion is positioned at the closing position. The sheet winding portion allows a first portion of the presser sheet to extend along the document table while holding a second portion of the presser sheet in a wound state. The sheet winding portion can feed the second portion when an external force is applied to the first portion. In the cover portion, a retreat space is formed so that the first portion of the presser sheet and a portion of the second portion fed from the sheet winding portion can retreat into the retreat space.

  • Publication number: 20170299995
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a sheet cassette, a sheet conveying portion, an image forming portion, a position detecting portion, and an image position correcting portion. The sheet conveying portion conveys a sheet from the sheet cassette attached to the apparatus main body, along a sheet conveyance path whose width direction matches the main direction. The position detecting portion detects a position of a detection-target portion that is a part of the sheet cassette, in the main direction based on the apparatus main body. The image position correcting portion corrects an image formation position in the main direction at which the image is formed by the image forming portion, based on the position detected by the position detecting portion.

  • Patent number: 9586772
Abstract: A sheet feeder includes a tray configured to load a sheet to be fed thereon. The tray has a tray upper face and a pair of cursors. The tray upper face has a recessed portion, a guide plate and a feeding route. The recessed portion extends along the width direction on an upstream side from the pair of cursors in the feeding direction. The guide plate is configured to cover an upper side of the recessed portion. The feeding route is formed between the recessed portion and the guide plate and extending from an inlet port positioned on an upstream side to an outlet port positioned on a downstream side along the feeding direction. The sheet in a state of being passed through the feeding route is aligned with the pair of cursors on the tray upper face and then fed.

  • Patent number: 9561917
Abstract: A sheet feeding device includes a lifting plate, a pickup roller, a lifting and lowering mechanism of the lifting plate and an end cursor. The end cursor has a cursor main body and a turning cursor plate. The turning cursor plate is coupled to the cursor main body turnably around a turning shaft extending in a width direction orthogonal to the conveying direction and slidably along a lifting and lowering direction of the lifting plate. The turning cursor plate is configured to be turned toward the downstream side in the conveying direction around the turning shaft by being pushed up with the lifting of the lifting plate while the turning shaft is moved upward so that the sheet is shifted toward the downstream side along an upper surface of the lifting plate with respect to the lifting plate.

  • Patent number: 9563829
Abstract: A jam detection section detects a sheet jam on a conveyance path based on results of detection by a sheet detection sensor. A printing stop section stops an image formation operation upon the sheet jam detection by the sheet jam detection section. Upon detection of completion of an operation of resolving the sheet jam by a user by a resolving operation detection section, a sheet breakage confirmation section judges, for the sheet taken out from the conveyance path by the user in the operation of resolving the sheet jam and then loaded on a document stand, whether or not there is any sheet lacking portion, based on image data generated by an image reading section. The stopping release section, upon judgment by the sheet breakage confirmation section that there is no sheet lacking portion, permits execution of image formation.
