    Abstract: A pedal apparatus for an electric motorcar or for a motor vehicle having a throttle mechanism, includes: a brake pedal having a brake auxiliary pad to which a brake arm is connected; and an accelerator pad configured to be rotated in the lateral direction within a predetermined angle range for an accelerating operation. The accelerator pad is formed of a reinforced plastic and is formed with a convex-shaped projection at a midsection thereof, a distal end of the accelerator arm extending from a throttle position sensor mounted on a vehicle body and rotating a predetermined angle range is disposed so as to be in abutment with the accelerator pad, and the rotation angle detected by the rotation of the accelerator arm is transmitted to an accelerator or a throttle mechanism that controls a driving motor via the throttle position sensor.

    Abstract: An automobile accelerator and brake pedal device, which is a brake pedal device comprising a vertically operable brake pedal having an auxiliary pad connected thereto, a transversely operable accelerator pad disposed in the auxiliary pad, and acceleration mechanism driven by the accelerator pad, wherein the accelerator pad is in the form of a plate-like member and chevroned with the intermediate portion bulging outward, the acceleration mechanism being operated by the slope surface of the chevron. Even if the brake pedal (1) is stepped on with the accelerator in its active position, this stepping-on action necessarily causes the accelerator pad (9) to move forward together with the auxiliary pad (3), thereby immediately bringing the accelerator lever (10) back to its original inactive position without any time delay involved as when a different pedal is stepped on, putting off the accelerator, and enabling the brake function to act normally.

Further comprised is a spring (12) disposed on the floor of the vehicle below the brake pedal for urging the lower end portion of the brake pedal to this side. The accelerator lever is arranged, when in a non-load state, at an inclination with respect to the axis of the brake pedal.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an improved brake-and-accelerator pedal assembly for an automobile driving use. In order to attain natural, smooth foot control, an accelerator pedal is fixed swingably in lateral direction to a selected stationary part of the automobile body, and is resiliently urged toward the brake pedal just above the right side of the brake pedal, whereby acceleration drive is controlled by rotating driver's foot about the heel to push the accelerator pedal laterally. This arrangement permits a driver to operate the accelerator pedal simply by turning the toe a little about the heel of the foot with the foot remaining on the brake pedal.

    Abstract: A drive control system for an automobile which has a heel support pivot on the floor of the automobile at a position opposite to the brake pedal in front of driver's seat. The brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are placed on the circle drawn by the ball of the foot when the foot is rotated about the heel on the heel support pivot, thereby permitting the driver to selectively operate the brake pedal or the accelerator pedal by rotating the foot about the heel.
