  • Patent number: 11937907
Abstract: Embodiments relate to an implantable device for detecting leakage of matter from a mammalian lumen, the device comprising a mesh structure that is attachable to a lumen of a mammalian. The mesh structure comprises a material or a material composition that is electrically conductive and which is measurably responsive in terms of its electrical conductivity when being subjected to leakage of matter from the lumen.

  • Publication number: 20220117511
Abstract: A system and method for early detection of adverse physiological phenomenon such as anastomotic leakage through a tissue-of-interest monitoring electrode implanted in proximity to a site of interest internal to the body. The tissue-of-interest monitoring electrode is operative provide an electrical signal responsive to changes in physiological conditions at the site of interest. The electrical signals may be provided to by a communication device to a monitor which comprises circuitry that is operative to process the received signals for determining, for example, if GI leakage occurs or not. If leakage is detected, the monitor issues a warning indicating that leakage occurs.

  • Publication number: 20150057519
Abstract: An expandable apparatus and method configured for inserting into a mammalian stomach and adapted for sensing the activity of the stomach wall. The apparatus comprising: a) an inflatable balloon insert-able into the stomach, when deflated; and b) one or more sensors, mounted to the external surface of the balloon. The inflatable balloon is adapted to attach the one or more sensors to the stomach wall, when the balloon is fully inflated in the stomach; such that the sensors are immovably affixed to the stomach wall, sufficient to sense at least one of mechanical-activity and electric-activity, emanating from the stomach wall.
