  • Patent number: 5325639
Abstract: A method for dressing a grinding wheel by providing a slurry of liquid and solid particles wherein the particle size is smaller than grain size of the grinding wheel and the particles are free of sharp edges, and blasting the slurry at low pressure through a blasting nozzle onto a surface of the grinding wheel to remove foreign material on the grinding wheel by impact and by cleaning action of the blasted stream.

  • Patent number: 5244317
Abstract: A slurry supplying device by which a uniformly mixed slurry can be supplied to a blasting gun in a pressure-type wet blasting machine. The slurry supplying device comprises a substantially closed vessel which contains the slurry and has a conical section in at least one part of the vessel. A conical stop valve is freely movable up and down to close the bottom of the slurry settling section by sealingly fitting its conical edge on the conical section of the vessel. An air duct supplies low pressure air for agitating the slurry at a lower part of the closed vessel by raising the stop valve body. An air duct is provided for supplying highly pressurized air into the closed vessel for pressurizing the slurry. A slurry supply pipe is provided for supplying the pressurized slurry to the blasting gun. A pressure relief valve is mounted on the top plate of the vessel for maintaining a maximum air pressure in the upper portion of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 5201150
Abstract: A blasting apparatus for blasting a pressurized slurry against a workpiece, including an enclosed pressure vessel which is adapted to contain and hold a slurry of abrasive particles and liquid, a piping branch connected to the upper part of the pressure vessel for introducing compressed air in order to pressurize the interior of the vessel, a complementary air circuit which connect the upper part of the pressure vessel with the bottom of the vessel, the circuit having a pressure modulating device which sucks compressed air from the upper part of the vessel and delivers it to the bottom of the vessel, and a blasting gun connected for receiving pressurized slurry from the pressure vessel and discharging it against a workpiece.
