  • Publication number: 20260262098
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to determining a contention resolution. In an aspect, a terminal device receives, as part of a random access (RA) procedure and after a message 3 (Msg3) transmission or a message A (MSGA) transmission, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission in a serving cell, wherein the PDCCH transmission is addressed to an identifier of the terminal device and contains an uplink (UL) grant for a new transmission, and the serving cell is configured with multiple timing advance groups (TAGs). The terminal device determines the RA procedure or a contention resolution of the RA procedure as successful or unsuccessful based on an association between the UL grant and a TAG among the multiple TAGs. The embodiments of the present disclosure allow a contention resolution to be determined without knowing to which TAG or transmission and reception point (TRP) the physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble transmission applies to.
