  • Publication number: 20100287513
Abstract: A system is provided for enabling cross-device gesture-based interactivity. The system includes a first computing device with a first display operative to display an image item, and a second computing device with a second display. The second display is operative to display a corresponding representation of the image item in response to a gesture which is applied to one of the computing devices and spatially interpreted based on a relative position of the first computing device and the second computing device.

  • Publication number: 20090240020
Abstract: A process for the preparation of an alkali metal salt of 4-chloro-4?-hydroxy benzophenone including the steps of (a) preparing purified 4-chloro-4?-hydroxy benzophenone by a process including distilling under reduced pressure a liquid containing 4-chloro-4?-hydroxy benzophenone and a solvent selected from diphenyl sulphone, diphenylene sulphone, benzophenone and dichlorobenzophenone, and then (b) preparing the alkali metal salt of thus purified 4-chloro-4?-hydroxy benzophenone by the reaction of the purified 4-chloro-4?-hydroxy benzophenone with a stoichiometric excess of at least one alkali metal base. There is also described a polymerization process using the alkali metal salt to yield PEK with high inherent viscosity and improved mechanical and thermal properties.

  • Publication number: 20090098870
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting data connectivity with a roaming partner when a communication device is outside a service provider's range of coverage is provided. In one aspect, a user can select and store a roaming partner that is capable of data communication. While roaming, the communication device will display the data-roaming partners that are currently available within the communication range of the device and the user can choose one of these data-roaming partners and store the data-roaming partner information in memory. Upon re-entering the region within communication range of that roaming partner, the device can communicate with the roaming partner of choice rather than the roaming partner ordinarily selected by the device as a default.

  • Patent number: 6433663
Abstract: A transformer includes a bobbin with spacers extending inwardly from the bobbin and a barrier extending outwardly from the bobbin. A ferrite core positioned within the bobbin is separated by the spacers to provide a controlled air gap. Primary windings wound around the bobbin are separated into series connected windings by the barrier. The barrier is aligned with spacers so as to prevent any wound portion of the primary windings from overlapping the air gap in the ferrite core.
