Patent number: 8950051Abstract: A telecommunications cable management system includes a planar base element including a planar top surface and side edges. Side elements are mounted with a mating arrangement to the base element. The side elements may include one or more of the following: upstanding wall portions, side exits extending horizontally, and downspouts. The base elements and the upstanding wall portions may have a continuous cross-section, and can be cut to the desired length for the cable management system. The downspout and side exit elements may also include multiple components wherein a central section of each can be cut to the desired width.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2003Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Thomas W. Kampf, Mathew D. Ferris, Joel T. Fisher, Timothy J. Haataja, Brian L. Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Alex Watts

Publication number: 20080298884Abstract: Couplers for a cable trough system including a spacing defined by first and second guiding surfaces, the spacing being sized to receive the terminal end of a trough member into the spacing. One or more springs are carried on the couplers and may be at least partially disposed within the spacing between the first and the second guiding surfaces. The springs urge the terminal end of the trough member against the coupler upon insertion of the terminal end into the spacing. One or more locking elements are coupled adjacent to the springs to move between a locking position and a released position. The locking elements may slide longitudinally or move perpendicularly to the couplers. A first trough member may be released from the couplers independent from a second trough member coupled to the couplers. Methods for use of the couplers are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 29, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Applicant: ADC TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC.Inventors: Mathew D. Ferris, Timothy J. Haataja

Patent number: 6708918Abstract: A cable guiding fin for managing cable in a cable management system. The fin includes a base and an upstanding wall with a convex surface. The upstanding wall may be tilted at an angle relative to the base and may define a plurality of tie-down apertures. The base may include an adhesive or fastener holes to secure the base to a surface of the cable management system.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2001Date of Patent: March 23, 2004Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Mathew D. Patent number: 6512875Abstract: A coupling and assembly for a cable routing system, the system having trough members with flanged ends. The coupling includes a U-shaped rib having a rail on an exterior surface of the rib. The coupling also includes a pivoting clamp pivotally coupled to the rib near a first end of the clamp so that the clamp may be pivoted between an open and a closed position. The clamp has a contoured clamping surface which is contoured to retain the flanged ends of adjacent troughs against the rail and the external surface of the rib when the pivoting clamp is in the closed position. The clamp also includes retention means which cooperate with retention means on the rib to releasably retain the clamp in its closed position.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2000Date of Patent: January 28, 2003Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Brian L.
