Abstract: A safety net support system is provided. The system includes a plurality of support members having a material positioned there between to create a barrier between neighboring support members. The system further includes a pneumatic anchorage member functionally coupled to a source of pressurized air. An anchorage member is configured to sustain a corresponding support member. Each anchorage member includes a vacuum cup and a control input that can transition the anchorage member between an engaged state and a disengaged state. In the engaged state, the anchorage member utilizes the pressurized air to establish a vacuum between the vacuum cup and a surface in contact with the vacuum cup. In the disengaged state, the anchorage member utilizes the pressurized air to establish an air cushion between the vacuum cup and the surface.
