  • Publication number: 20230413789
Abstract: Provided is a system for automatically removing mortalities, such as deceased fish or other animals, from an aquaculture cage. An underwater robotic vehicle can traverse an aquaculture cage to collect the mortalities. The collected mortalities can be delivered by the vehicle to a dock, where the mortalities can be offloaded from the vehicle and stored in the dock. The mortalities can be pumped to a surface vessel where the mortalities can be dewatered, photographed, and/or weighed, before being stored for further processing.

  • Publication number: 20230301280
Abstract: The subject matter of this disclosure relates to a system and a method for biomass detection and feed control in an aquaculture environment. An example computer-implemented method includes: providing a feed supply for an aquaculture cage containing a plurality of fish; obtaining data derived from one or more sensors disposed on or within the aquaculture cage; using one or more machine learning models that receive the data as input and provide as output a determination of at least one of a fish biomass, a fish biomass distribution, or a fish satiation level for the aquaculture cage; and based on the determination from the one or more machine learning models, controlling an amount of feed delivered to the aquaculture cage from the feed supply.

  • Publication number: 20230148573
Abstract: A movable aquafarming system is provided, including a vessel and a plurality of connected fish pens. The plurality of fish pens are arranged in a line, with a first fish pen of the plurality of fish pens being disposed closest to the vessel. The vessel is configured to be moored, and when moored the first fish pen is attached proximate to the vessel, and when the vessel is not moored the first fish pen is configured to attach to the vessel with a length of a tow line, whereby the vessel can tow the plurality of fish pens to a different location.

  • Patent number: 11559046
Abstract: A system and method for remote monitoring and command and control of one or many offshore aquafarms is provided. Operators are able to securely access web applications and services hosted in the cloud through which husbandry functions such as feeding fish, cleaning the cage and removing mortalities can be automatically scheduled and executed. Offshore aquafarms relay information, such as environmental sensor data and video feeds back to the cloud to be viewed by the operators.

  • Patent number: 11278012
Abstract: A system is provided for automatically removing deceased fish from an aquaculture cage. The system may include an underwater robotic vehicle configured to traverse the aquaculture cage to collect mortalities. The mortalities, once collected, may be brought to a system dock and then removed from the cage.

  • Patent number: 10602727
Abstract: A system and method for automatically harvesting fish from an aquaculture cage is provided. Underwater robotic rovers draw out a large net from a protective enclosure. The net is manipulated to corral or concentrate the fish into a smaller volume. Transponders installed at strategic locations throughout the cage facilitate navigation of the rovers.
