  • Patent number: 9927836
Abstract: The present application concerns handheld electrical generators for charging mobile electronic devices. In one representative embodiment, a manually powered generator for charging a mobile device comprises a first magnet array having a plurality of magnets arrayed in an annular formation on a first surface, a second magnet array having a plurality of magnets arrayed in an annular formation on a second surface positioned opposite the first surface, and a torque input member. The generator further comprises a rotor having a serpentine trace of conductive material disposed between the first and second magnet arrays. The generator is configured to be incorporated into a handheld case or shell for containing the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8780945
Abstract: A method and device may comprise transmitting, via a transmitter, a plurality of transmit pings at a transmit interval. A receiver may listen, for a live ping and the receiver may be configured to be turned on at a beginning of the assess interval, and off at an end of the detect duration. The receiver may further receive the live ping. After receiving the live ping, transmission of a new ping may be delayed for a delay duration. The new pings may be transmitted at the transmit interval.

  • Publication number: 20060046664
Abstract: A distributed sensor networks employing mobile sensing nodes that are carried to desired locations by attaching themselves to moving hosts and detaching themselves when the host arrives at the desired location or is moving away from the desired location. Each sensing node may carry a plurality of environmental sensors and communicates with nearby sensing nodes using a short range wireless link. The node further carries a location sensing mechanism and uses either active, passive or attractive means to attach itself to a moving host.

  • Publication number: 20050164678
Abstract: A method, system, transmitter, receiver and protocol are disclosed for communicating with wireless receivers. The invention includes providing a controller having a discovery mode and an operating mode, in the discovery mode the controller is capable of registering wireless devices, in the operating mode the controller is capable of receiving transmissions from a wireless device that has been registered. A wireless transmitter is provided which is capable of communicating wirelessly with the controller. The wireless device has an actuator for initiating at least one transmission of registration data. When the controller is placed into the discovery mode, and the actuator of the wireless device is actuated to wirelessly transmit the registration data from the wireless device to the controller, whereby the wireless device is registered with the controller. The wireless data contains data that allows the controller to interface with the wireless device.
