  • Patent number: 11066928
Abstract: A telemetry method transmits data from a downhole location to a surface location. During transmission an event is detected that makes it desirable to change a transmitted data stream. A downhole processor processes the detected event in combination with a predefined event database and downhole measurement data using a frame building algorithm to compute a digital data stream. Synchronization markers are added to the data stream to obtain a synchronized data stream in which the synchronization markers identify the detected event. The synchronized data stream is transmitted to the surface location using a downhole telemetry tool and received at the surface location to obtain a decoded data stream. A surface processor processes the synchronization markers to identify the detected event and further processes the detected event in combination with a predefined event database and the decoded data stream using the frame building algorithm to obtain the downhole measurements.

  • Publication number: 20160340573
Abstract: A technique facilitates a well treatment, such as a well stimulation. The technique comprises injecting a gel containing proppant into a wellbore extending into a subterranean formation. Additionally, a low viscosity fluid is injected into the wellbore with the gel either simultaneously or separately. An additive or additives may be used to maintain the gel in the low viscosity fluid. The technique further comprises separating the gel into slugs and then causing the slugs to flow into fractures in the subterranean formation.

  • Patent number: 9497646
Abstract: Services and applications running on devices placed in live wireless environments are tested and reported to determine the relative performance of the device under test. Multiple logs collected from the device under test are combined and transmitted to a remote backend system. The backend system stores and analyzes the combined logs to generate reports containing factual and relative performance information regarding the device during the testing period. The nature of the test, the collected log information, and the report format may all be modified according to the criteria of the requestor.

  • Patent number: 9143961
Abstract: A switching matrix and testing platform may enable controlled testing of various configurations of radio access networks (RANs) at various signal strengths. The switching matrix and testing platform may enable testing of the radio frequency (RF) signals from RANs or telecommunications devices for new and/or predetermined scenarios, such as using different configurations of the RANs at various signal strengths. During a scenario, various operations may be performed on the telecommunications device in communication with the tested RF signals, such as making voice calls, transmitting and receiving data (messages, videos, music, etc.). A performance of the telecommunications device and/or various telecommunication network elements may be analyzed in comparison to other telecommunications device and/or various telecommunication network elements.

  • Patent number: 8897144
Abstract: Techniques for calculating quality of user experience (QoE) scores for video streams as played on receiving devices are described herein. Prior to calculating a QoE score, a device receives a video of a display screen of a receiving device captured while the receiving device plays a video stream. The device also receives transmission metrics from at least one device engaged in the transmission of the video stream to the receiving device. The device then calculates the QoE score for that received video based at least in part on a reference video, the transmission metrics, and one or more QoE models. Additionally, prior to receiving the video or the transmission metrics, the device may automate the transmission of the reference video as the video stream from a sending device to the receiving device over at least one network emulator, including providing network impairment settings to the network emulator.

  • Patent number: 7691789
Abstract: A composition and method is given for a well control fluid that is injected into a well during completion or remediation and prevents fluid flow from a formation into the well during operations (such as shut-in, or placement or adjustment of tools/hardware) when no fluid flow is desired. The composition includes a viscoelastic surfactant fluid system (VES) and a decomposable first solid material, preferably in fiber form, that forms a pack or plug in the well at the location where fluid would otherwise leak off, and then decomposes without intervention to release a product that is a breaker for the surfactant or the micelles of the VES. The composition optionally also contains a pH control agent and a second solid (that may also be a fluid loss agent) that affect the decomposition of the first solid.
