Abstract: A system for acquisition and presentation of audio or audio/visual media has a peripheral computing device including an audio speaker system, a visual display screen and a memory for storing the media, the device having connection access to a computer connected to a network and output connection access to one or more light emitting devices, and a personalized content page stored in a server connected to the network and accessible to the peripheral computing device, the page including the page content encrypted for use solely by the peripheral computing device. A user operating the device while plugged into the network-connected computer may invoke a universal resource locator on the device to cause navigation to the personalized content page through the network-connected computer as a host.
