  • Patent number: 8209872
Abstract: The present invention is an attachable rolling plate assembly which can be attached as a single unit to a portable cutting tool to facilitate the safe rolling movement of the portable cutting tool on the workpiece. The invention comprises a frame assembly formed from a single piece of molded material such as fiber enriched plastic having a pair of oppositely disposed longitudinal sidewalls with stabilizer fins extending therefrom, and a flat base portion having a pair of parallel stabilizer tubes molded therein. The invention further includes an adjustable bevel gear assembly by which the angle of orientation of the cutting blade can be quickly changed. The invention also includes a cutting guide assembly to facilitate a straight cut, reduce torsional rotation of the saw blade and reduce kickback of the saw.

  • Patent number: 7661194
Abstract: The present invention is an attachable rolling plate assembly which can be attached as a single unit to a portable cutting tool to facilitate the safe rolling movement of the portable cutting tool on the workpiece. The invention comprises a front wheel housing portion, a back wheel housing portion, and two or three metal rods which interconnect the two housings. The housings removably retain a pair of spaced apart wheels and means to retain a cutting tool on the housings so that the cutting tool can be rolled on the workpiece during operation of the tool while the cutting blade portion of the tool extends between a pair of adjacent interconnecting rod members. The front and rear wheel housing assembly receives the cutting blade in between its pins or axles, so that the entire width of the saw plate is supported by the wheels during cutting.

  • Patent number: 6568088
Abstract: A wheel attachment apparatus for a portable circular saw having a circular blade driven by a motor for cutting a workpiece into a cut-off portion and a remaining portion during a cutting process. The wheel attachment apparatus includes a flat bottom plate attached to the circular saw and to be placed above the working piece to support the circular saw during the cutting process, and having a slot opening to allow the circular blade of the circular saw to pass through for cutting the workpiece under the bottom plate. A set of roller wheels is attached to the bottom plate such that when the circular saw is used to cut the workpiece, the set of wheels is brought into contact with the workpiece and elevates the bottom plate so that there is no contact between the bottom plate and the workpiece and instead the wheels are rolling on the workpiece to reduce any friction between the bottom plate and the workpiece and ease the movement of the circular saw during the cutting process.

  • Patent number: 6412179
Abstract: A cutting guide apparatus for use with a portable power cutting tool and including a guide base plate, locking mechanism for removably attaching the cutting guide apparatus to an upper blade guard of the cutting tool, and a control mechanism to control the position of the tool relative to a planar workpiece. The control mechanism includes a slidable member and is slidably disposed on a track which is attached on the guide base plate and moves along the direction of the cut to guide the cutting tool throughout the cutting process. The control mechanism further includes an abutment guide member for abutting against the workpiece to maintain the cutting tool in an accurate cutting position during the cutting process.
