  • Patent number: 9036568
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in mobile radio telecommunications for enabling access to Circuit Switched (CS) services for a user equipment (UE) that is connected to a LTE/SAE (Long Term Evolution/System Architecture Evolution) network. The UE's current position is stored in a LTE position format in the LTE network or in the SAE network. The invention provides steps and means for transforming the UE's position in LTE format to position information in CS format for the UE, steps and means for registering the UE in the CS network using said transformed position information, and steps and means for establishing access to CS services provided by said CS network.

  • Patent number: 7733782
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for avoiding unnecessary retransmissions in a packet-based radio-communication network by exchanging transmission state information between retransmission functionality entities (12, 21) located at respective protocol layers in different network nodes (1, 2), and performing inter-layer coordination of retransmissions between the network nodes (1, 2) based on the exchanged transmission state information to provide a more efficient overall scheme for retransmissions.

  • Publication number: 20100029277
Abstract: The present invention provides a method in a base station for transmitting cell information. The base station is comprised in a radio access network. The base station is adapted to communicate over a radio link with a user equipment located in a cell in the radio access network. The cell is served by the base station and is surrounded by neighbour cells. The method comprises the step of sending a message to the user equipment, using a point-to-point connection over the radio link.

  • Patent number: 7020477
Abstract: The present invention refers to methods and systems for enabling paging and DRX in a hybrid cellular communication system comprising a core network (CN) and radio access network (RAN) employing different paging techniques. The core network is associated with a DRX parameter of a CN associated parameter set, which according to the invention, is mapped to a value of a RAN associated parameter set. This resulting value may then be used by the radio access network and/or a mobile station for determining a present paging period of the mobile station. Furthermore, methods of selecting DRX parameters for a mobile station in different operational modes are provided. The invention is particular applicable to a communication system including a GERAN radio access network operating in Iu mode.

Abstract: The present invention refers to methods and systems for enabling paging and DRX in a hybrid cellular communication system comprising a core network (CN) and radio access network (RAN) employing different paging techniques. The core network is accociated with a DRX parameter of a CN associated parameter set, which according to the invention, is mapped to a value of a RAN associated parameter set. This resulting value may then be used by the radio access network and/or a mobile station for determining a present paging period of the mobile station. Furthermore, methods of selecting DRX parameters for a mobile station in different operational modes are provided.
