  • Publication number: 20080061542
Abstract: A motor vehicle contains a roll bar configuration which has at least one U-shaped roll bar, a transverse strut, and a connecting element with a receiving opening which accommodates one end of the roll bar. The connecting element can be connected releasably or nonreleasably both to the outer and to the inner body wall which is/are disposed generally vertically and/or horizontally. Furthermore, it is provided, on the connecting element, to arrange bearing points to which a foldable top and/or a belt deflecting lever can be fastened.

  • Publication number: 20080061589
Abstract: An anchoring configuration for a rear end section of a top cloth. The anchoring configuration has a fastening strip, which can be connected by a first strip section to the top cloth and by a second strip section releasably to a body element of a convertible. The fastening strip is of a flexible construction at least in some regions, and has a water collecting profile which runs in a transverse direction of the convertible and is disposed below the rear end section of the top cloth. In order to simplify the anchoring configuration, the first strip section of the fastening strip is configured as the water collecting profile.

  • Publication number: 20080061591
Abstract: A folding top of a motor vehicle has two top bearings which are fixed on the vehicle body and on which a top linkage for the folding top is mounted such that it can be pivoted between a closed position of the top and a lowered position of the top. A pivotal rear window carrier is coupled to the top linkage in such a manner that it is raised when the folding top is closed and is lowered when the folding top is lowered. The top linkage is coupled, for the purpose of raising the rear window carrier, to front links mounted on the latter on both sides at the front, as seen in the direction of the front end of the vehicle. The rear window carrier is coupled on both sides to the top bearing by rear links, whereas the top linkage is coupled, for the purpose of displacing the rear window carrier, between the raised and lowered position, to one of the front links by in each case at least one coupling element.

  • Patent number: 7325862
Abstract: A motor vehicle door has a lateral impact protection device with a lateral impact beam and a fastening device to connect the lateral impact beam to a door part. The fastening device has a fastening bracket being a cast part and is connected to the door part. The fastening bracket has a fork-shaped seat for receiving the lateral impact beam. A holding bolt passes through the lateral impact beam and the fork-shaped seat. The fork-shaped seat contains at least two inner surfaces which face the lateral impact beam and lie opposite one another with a spacing and a fork bottom. For ease of production, the fork-shaped seat widens with its inner surfaces in its direction pointing away from the fork bottom. The inner surfaces are configured as unfinished cast surfaces, and the lateral impact beam has a trapezoidal cross section adapted to the widening seat.

  • Patent number: 6513857
Abstract: A lowerable rear window in a folding top has a window which, during opening of the folding top, can be lowered about a horizontal axis into a depositing space of the vehicle. Lateral steering levers which are guided corresponding to the movement of the folding top during opening and closing are used for guiding the rear window. The rear window reaches directly under a vehicle body element without the need for a connection made of a folding top cover between the vehicle body element and the rear window.

  • Patent number: 6139087
Abstract: A folding top for a convertible has two roof frames which run along the longitudinal sides. Each of these roof frames is divided into three sections. The rear of these sections is connected to a pivot on the body and, by means of a further pivot, to the central frame piece. The front frame piece is linked to the central frame piece with the aid of a parallelogram link arrangement which is configured in such a way that during opening the front frame piece is guided upward onto the central frame piece, so that the roof lining is not exposed even when the folding top is open.
