  • Patent number: 8443859
Abstract: A manually operated or automated bonding tool for the attachment of a formed adhesive element to a bonding part is disclosed. The bonding tool includes a loading module in which the bare bonding part is loaded, an oven module in which the bare bonding part is heated, an adhesive picking station module in which the adhesive is attached to the heated bare bonding part, and a part transfer module which advances the bare bonding part sequentially from the loading module, through the oven module, and to the adhesive picking station module. The oven module includes an elongated heating block having a bonding part guide by which the bare bonding parts are transferred through the oven and to the adhesive picking station module. The part transfer module is used to push the unheated bare bonding part into and through the oven module and into position on the adhesive picking station module.

  • Patent number: 8065835
Abstract: A device for displaceably holding a glass pane (1) in a sliding rail has at least one fastening part (2) to which a hot-melt adhesive cushion (7) is fitted and which has at least one locking element (10, 11). Furthermore, there is an elongate holding rail (3) which can be brought into engagement with the or each locking element (10, 11). The or each locking element (10, 11) can be moved between a locking position, in which the or each fastening part (2) is connected fixedly to the holding rail (3), and a release position in which the engagement with the holding rail (3) is released and the glass pane (1) can be removed from the holding rail (3). As a result, repair due to wear of the holding rail (3) is less cost-intensive, since the glass pane (1) is connected releasably to the holding rail (3).

  • Patent number: 7563506
Abstract: A fastening arrangement comprises a fastening element provided with a fastening portion having a planar outer side surface, and a hot-melt adhesive that can be melted in order to fasten the fastening element to a substrate. The fastening element is provided with a receiving recess that is open in the direction of the planar outer side surface. A retaining structure is provided in the region of the receiving recess. The hot melt adhesive is configured as a compact whose shape is adapted to the retaining structure such that the compact can be connected to the fastening element. The fastening arrangement can thus be prefabricated without incipient melting of the hot-melt adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20090173154
Abstract: A device for fastening a sensor to a support part comprises a sensor mount (1). The sensor mount (1) is made of sheet metal and comprises a base plate (2) as well as a counter plate (5), which is placed at a distance from the base plate (2) while being joined thereto. The area of the base plate (2) is greater than the area of the counter plate (5). Indexing means (18, 19, 20) are formed on the counter plate (5) in order to ensure, together with counter means formed on the sensor, the insertion of the sensor into the sensor mount (1) at a correct angle. This device is characterized, with a precise pre-alignment of the sensor, by having a particularly low weight.

  • Patent number: 7544385
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating adhesive surfaces of fixing elements with a hot-melt adhesive, and to a device for carrying out said coating method. Base surfaces (5) of recesses (2) are formed by tappets (6), whereby the lateral walls thereof are displacably guided in the recesses (2). A displaceable container (9) which is used to fill up the adhesive powder in the recesses (2) is arranged next to the recesses (2). The side edges (10) of the container (9) cover a working plate (1). A slit (11) which is used to receive the securing element (4) is arranged on the other side of the recesses (2), said slit being provided with continuous holes (12) for the tappets (6). A pressure stamp (13) provided with a pressure plate (14) which is lowered onto the securing element (4) is arranged over the recesses (2). A heating station (15) which is used to heat the securing element prior to heating the recesses (2) to the desired heating temperature is arranged at a distance from the slits (11).

  • Patent number: 6803111
Abstract: A glazing is provided comprising a glass sheet with a rigid member bonded to it by adhesive which is provided on at least two discrete areas of the member or glass sheet. The adhesive may be a structural adhesive, pre-applied in tablet form, and activated by heat. The use of multiple discrete areas of adhesive allows differential thermal expansion to be accommodated. The glazing may be for a vehicle window, and the rigid member may be a plate, especially a mounting plate for ancillary equipment.
