Patent number: 11947390Abstract: A case for an eyewear device includes a body defining an opening leading to a storage chamber that is sized for retaining the eyewear device. A cover depends from the body and is movable between an open position, in which the opening is exposed, and a closed position, in which the opening is covered by the cover. A battery is mounted to the body for charging the eyewear device. A detector is positioned on either the body or the cover for detecting when the cover is in the open position or the closed position. A display displays a charge state of the battery when the cover is in the open position.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Snap Inc.Inventors: John Bernard Ardisana, II, Emily Lauren Clopp, Teodor Dabov, Mathias Hintermann, Jinwoo Kim, Jun Lin, Ashutosh Y. Patent number: 11929548Abstract: Eyewear with a slot ring antenna generating E-fields that are orthogonal to each other at a frequency. The slot ring antenna has a first portion including an inner ring and an outer ring configured to generate a first E-field in a first direction, and a second portion having a respective inner ring and the outer right configured to generate a second E-field in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first E-field. The outer ring encompasses the respective inner rings, where a first slot is defined between the respective inner ring and the outer ring. A second slot is encompassed by the respective inner ring, and it may be a cutout. The slot ring antenna encompasses eyewear optical assemblies. In one example, the slot antenna first portion encompasses a first optical assembly, and the second portion encompasses the second optical assembly. The outer ring may comprise of a common ground plane, which ground plane may extend proximate a bridge of the eyewear.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2021Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Snap Inc.Inventors: Mathias Hintermann, Ugur Olgun, Patrick Timothy McSweeney Simons

Publication number: 20230348067Abstract: A UAV including a shroud with cooling openings to cool electronics in the UAV. The shroud includes propeller openings surrounding respective propellers. The propeller openings include intake openings that draw air from outside the shroud into the shroud to cool UAV components. The propeller openings are formed at an interface between an upper portion of the shroud and a lower portion of the shroud. The UAV includes a selector, such as a dial, including exit openings under the selector that provide air outflow from the shroud.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2022Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: David G. Fliszar, Mathias Hintermann, Russell Douglas Patton

Patent number: 11747630Abstract: An adjustable frame assembly for augmented reality eyewear. The frame assembly includes a face portion for supporting at least one waveguide that creates an eye box, a support rest for supporting the face portion on a user, and a coupling for adjusting the position of the face portion relative to the support rest. This enables movement of the waveguide eye box relative to the support rest to position the eye box in front of the wearer’s eyes.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2019Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: Snap Inc.Inventors: Julio Cesar Castañeda, Mathias Hintermann, Kevin David Page, Samuel Bryson Thompson
