  • Patent number: 11903002
Abstract: A method for improving NarrowBand Internet-of-Things radio network utilization by more efficiently and flexibly allocating available frequency spectrum resources to an UE. The objective to provide a method which allows efficient NB-IoT multi-carrier operation across different radio frequency bands or NB-IoT/LTE mother cells will be solved by a method for improving NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT) radio network utilization by more efficiently and flexibly allocating available frequency spectrum resources to an UE, where system information messages and/or dedicated signaling exchanged between an eNodeB and the UE are extended by specific parameters, setups and requests, so that multi-carrier operations are performable across all radio frequency bands even if the UE is already connected to the eNodeB.

  • Patent number: 11611936
Abstract: A method for optimizing power consumption for Narrowband Internet of Things devices, UEs, in idle mode using a coverage class specific paging configuration, where carriers for paging are partitioned by coverage class, whereas the coverage class specific paging configuration, broadcasted by a system information exchanged between the base station and the UE, is extended by an additional NRSRP rsrp-ThresholdPcch threshold, whereas the UE selects one carrier for paging with a Narrowband Reference signal received power (NRSRP) smaller than the rsrp-ThresholdPcch threshold or if a UE is not reachable the eNodeB expands a paging area for the considered UE stepwise into other paging coverage classes in order to reach the UE.

  • Patent number: 11184856
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method for reducing power consumption of a first device for use in a wireless communication system. The first device receives a signal within a first reference sub-frame of a radio channel. The device determines whether to use the signal for obtaining channel state information to be reported to a second device within a reporting sub-frame, or whether to receive and use a second signal within a second reference sub-frame of the radio channel for obtaining channel state information to be reported to the second device within said predetermined later sub-frame. Based on this determination, the first device reports channel state information obtained based on the signal received within said first reference sub-frame or said second signal within said second reference sub-frame to the second device within said reporting sub-frame.
