  • Patent number: 11609555
Abstract: A method for providing output values with associated uncertainties for a flexible modular plant or machine comprising an arrangement of modular entities, wherein uncertainty information associated with an operation of the modular entity is assigned to a plurality of modular entities and input values are provided based on an operation of the modular entities, where a computing unit calculates an output value based on said input values, calculates an input value uncertainty for each input value based on the uncertainty information of the modular entity, and calculates at least one output value uncertainty associated with the output value based on propagation of uncertainty and using the input value uncertainties, and where the output value and the at least one output value uncertainty are output.

  • Publication number: 20220201026
Abstract: Examples of techniques for threat detection in an industrial process system are described herein. An aspect includes determining a plurality of subsystems of an industrial process system. Another aspect includes, for each of the plurality of subsystems, constructing and training a respective deep autoencoder (DAE) model of the subsystem based on data corresponding to the industrial process system. Another aspect includes monitoring the industrial process system using the plurality of DAE models corresponding to the plurality of subsystems. Another aspect includes, based on the plurality of DAE models, determining a cyberattack in a subsystem of the plurality of subsystems.

  • Patent number: 10747211
Abstract: A method for engineering a method- or process-engineering plant with at least one function module, a corresponding function module and a stored program control, wherein the function module includes the stored program control and the method- or process-engineering module that can be controlled or regulated thereby fur use as part of the plant, where a parameter-configurable user program is loaded into the stored program control, and information for the integration of the function module in a file is provided, during engineering of the plant, which defines the parameters for the application-specific configuration of the function module via a plant-engineering tool and stored via an interface specified in a formal description language, for configuration of the user program, in a memory area of the control such that an engineering tool, which is specific to the respective stored program controls used within function modules, is advantageously no longer required.

  • Publication number: 20190370912
Abstract: Method for creating a recipe for a process-related process plant based on at least one service, wherein the at least one service is a representation, in terms of automation technology, of concrete physical embodiments of process-related operations of the process-related process plant, where in order to create the recipe, a substitute object assigned to the service is used for each individual service, the substitute object has a parameterization, via which, when merging the created recipe and a topology of the process-related process plant, the concrete physical embodiments of the process-related operations of the process-related process plant can be incorporated into the recipe, and where the substitute object(s) is/are realized in a programmable logic controller of a control system of the process-related process plant or in a batch system of the control system of the process-related process plant.

  • Publication number: 20090271767
Abstract: A method is disclosed for evaluating a tool used in a system including steps of providing top-level-challenges to be met by the tool in at least one life cycle phase of the system to enhance a productivity of the given system. In at least one embodiment, each top-level-challenge can be provided, each having a number of concepts or best practices with different numeric classification values. At least one tool profile of the tool is calculated for selected top-level-challenges by way of a function as a statistical function on the basis of numeric classification values assigned to sub-challenges of the top-level-challenges. The method and apparatus according to at least one embodiment of the present invention can be used for evaluating a software tool such as a service information system employed in an industrial system such as a power plant for one or several life cycle phases of the system including its engineering, commissioning, operation, service and modernization phase.
