    Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electric blower apparatus having a blower spiral and a fan wheel rotating in the blower spiral. For driving the fan wheel, an electric motor is disposed on an axial end face of the blower spiral, the drive shaft of the electric motor protruding through a shaft opening in the axial end face and into the blower spiral and being connected to the fan wheel. Configured in the axial end face of the blower spiral is a cooling air opening by way of which a cooling air flow that flows about the electric motor is routed. To guarantee sufficient cooling of the driving electric motor at a minimal consumption of electric energy, it is provided that the cooling air opening is disposed in a pressure region of the blower spiral such that the cooling air flow to the electric motor is a pressurized air flow.

A fan (4) has a spiral housing (5) and a fan wheel (6) arranged in the spiral housing (5). The spiral housing (5) has a housing section (8) which forms a first intake opening (9) of the fan (4). The fan wheel (6) has a first wall section (10) which forms a second intake opening (12) of the fan wheel (6). A gap seal (15) is formed between the housing section (8) of the spiral housing (5) and the first wall section (10) of the fan wheel (6). At least one air guide element (16) for generating a swirl zone (30) is formed in the gap seal (15).

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electric blower apparatus having a blower spiral which has a first axial end wall, a second axial end wall and a blower air outlet. An electric motor which drives a fan wheel rotating in the blower spiral is held on the first axial end wall, the fan wheel inducting ambient air by way of an intake opening in the second axial end wall. A cover element, the cover surface thereof being configured so as to be larger than the air inlet surface of the intake opening, is disposed in front of the intake opening. To induct a large quantity of ambient air with little noise, it is provided that the cover element is configured as a cover plate, wherein an annular gap which forms the intake channel for the direct access of ambient air is configured between the plate edge and the blower spiral.
