  • Patent number: 8308909
Abstract: A sheet-forming system includes a separating wedge with a separating wedge protrusion in a range of 0.05 to 3.0 of the largest single gap width of at least two nozzle chambers. The separating wedge includes two separating wedge areas, each having one separating wedge angle, an upstream separating wedge starting area and a downstream separating wedge ending area. The two separating wedge angles assume different angles. The separating wedge starting angle of the upstream separating wedge initial area assumes a greater angle than the separating wedge ending angle of the downstream separating wedge end area. At least one separating wedge surface is a nonplanar transitional area between the two separating wedge areas. The fibrous material suspension free jet formed from at least two fibrous material suspension streams has a free jet length of 100 to 500 mm. The forming roll has a diameter of 1,200 to 2,500 mm.

  • Publication number: 20060027350
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a fibrous material web (1) from at least one fibrous material suspension (2) having a fibrous material suspension thickness (FSD). The inventive method involves the use of at least one revolving wire (4) on which the fibrous material suspension (2) is placed with a fibrous material suspension height (FSH) by means of at least one headbox (3), and which is guided over a row of draining elements (5, 6, 11, 12, 12.1, 12.2, 14).

  • Publication number: 20030066618
Abstract: The current invention relates to a machine for the production of a fiber web, specifically a paper or cardboard web, from at least one fiber stock suspension comprising at least one porous belt, specifically a wire belt, a felt belt, or similar belt, running continuously in the direction of web travel. Further including at least one suction box, including a closed box that can be connected to a vacuum source. On its upper surface that is in contact with the belt, a multitude of cover strips are mounted at certain distances from each other and vertical to the direction of travel L of the belt, forming suction slots. At least one suction box cover strip at which a pressure differential exists due to various prevailing ambient pressures, and has a width making contact with the wire, viewed vertically to the direction of travel of the belt, and having a value factor a* of the average width of the cover strips that are contacting the wire, whereby the value factor takes on a numerical value in the range of 0.

  • Patent number: 6521091
Abstract: A twin wire former in a machine for the production of a fibrous material web, specifically a paper or cardboard web, includes two rotating continuous wires which meet in the area of a simultaneously rotating dewatering element, thereby forming a stock inlet gap; and a headbox over which the fiber stock suspension is fed into the stock inlet gap. The stock consistency C of the fiber stock suspension in the headbox, as well as the basis weight F of the fiber stock suspension supplied to the stock inlet gap is selected according to the calculation: F/(C*1000)>0.025 whereby the basis weight F is stated in g/m2 and the stock consistency C is stated in g/l.

  • Patent number: 6372092
Abstract: Headbox of a paper machine and a process of supplying a material suspension, The headbox includes at least one material suspension supplying system, and a headbox nozzle that includes a first dividing wall having a machine width and a second dividing wall having a machine width. The first and second dividing walls are arranged to form a first path in which a total nozzle cross-section steadily and continually decreases in a material flow direction and to form a second path, arranged to follow the first path, in which a total nozzle cross-section continually increases in the material flow direction. The process includes includes accelerating the material suspension along a first path having a total nozzle cross-section that steadily and continually decreases in a material flow direction, and decelerating the material suspension along a second path having a total nozzle cross-section that continually increases in the material flow direction. The second path is arranged to follow the first path.
