  • Publication number: 20140272098
Abstract: The present invention concerns a process for manufacturing nanoparticles in a slurry based on an aqueous solvent by treating said inorganic particles or their agglomerates in said solvent at a solids content of 30-75w-%, by adding dispersing agent(s) and by carrying out ultrasonic treatment at an intensity of 5-1000 W/cm2 on this concentrated slurry. Thereby, a homogenous consistent particle slurry is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20140065412
Abstract: The present invention concerns a transparent or semi-transparent coating prepared from coating mixture containing conventional coating components mixed with a coating slurry containing dispersed inorganic nano-particles in a content of 1-70 w-% of the slurry. Further, the invention concerns a manufacturing process of such a coating, as well as a manufacturing process of said coating slurry.

  • Publication number: 20120128572
Abstract: A method of producing calcium carbonate. In the method a calcium oxide material is contacted in aqueous phase with carbon dioxide in a plurality of carbonation units. According to the invention, the calcium oxide material is carbonated in a first carbonation unit in an aqueous slurry at a pH in excess of 11.0 in order to produce a calcium carbonate into the aqueous slurry, from the first carbonation unit is withdrawn an effluent formed by an aqueous slurry containing calcium carbonate and calcium hydroxide, and the calcium hydroxide of the withdrawn effluent is then carbonated in a second carbonation unit to produce a calcium carbonate slurry having a pH of less than 6.9. The method allows for the production of both monodisperse particles with a narrow molecular weight distripution and multidisperse particles with a broad molecular weight distribution.
