  • Publication number: 20230407826
Abstract: An off-road vehicle has: a frame including a rollover protection structure (ROPS); four wheels; at least one seat; an internal combustion engine operatively connected at least two of the wheels; a windshield movably connected to the ROPS, the windshield being movable between lowered and raised positions. The windshield defines at least one of: a windshield recess in a top edge of the windshield, and a windshield aperture near the top edge. An air intake conduit has a conduit inlet and a conduit outlet fluidly connected to an engine air intake system. The conduit inlet faces generally forward and is disposed at least in part vertically higher than the windshield in the lowered position. In the raised position of the windshield, air flows through the at least one of the windshield recess and the windshield aperture to be supplied to the conduit inlet of the air intake conduit.

  • Publication number: 20230290281
Abstract: A neck mechanism for a mannequin comprises three or more joint units serially connected to provide joints for three or more rotational degrees of freedom (DOF). A rotational axis of a first DOF is configured to be aligned with a lateral axis of the mannequin. A rotational axis of a second DOF is configured to be aligned with an anterior-posterior axis of the mannequin. A rotational axis of a third DOF is configured to be aligned with a cranial-caudal axis of the mannequin. A bottom one of the joint units is adapted to be connected to a torso of the mannequin, and a top one of the at least three joint units is adapted to be connected to a skull. The mannequin may also have a skull connected to the top one of the joint units, and a trunk connected to the bottom one of the joint units. A system for simulating cervical spine motions is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20230013108
Abstract: A vehicle includes: a frame including a roll cage, a motor connected to the frame, a driver seat connected to the frame, and a roof extending at least in part above the driver seat. The roof includes an upper surface and a lower surface. At least part of the roof is pivotably connected to the roll cage about a roof pivot axis so that the at least part of the roof is pivotable from a closed position to an open position. In the closed position, the at least part of the roof covers a roof opening defined by the roll cage, and in the open position, the at least part of the roof at least partly exposes the roof opening.

  • Publication number: 20200406714
Abstract: A ram air vent for a vehicle has a base defining a base aperture therein; a hood connected to the base over the base aperture, the hood and base defining a forwardly facing air inlet therebetween, the hood and the base defining an air passage extending from the air inlet to the base aperture; a baffle disposed in the air passage for deflecting air flowing in the air passage from the air inlet for separating water from air flowing in the air passage, the baffle facing the air inlet; and at least one water passage defined in at least one of the base or the hood. The at least one water passage exits a rear side of the ram air vent. The at least one water passage drains water separated from air flowing in the air passage from the ram air vent.

  • Patent number: 10426156
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically deterring pest with a light projection on the ground that is perceived as a predator by pests such as birds, which triggers a fear reaction from the birds to leave the area. The apparatus is designed to project a large beam of more than 60 mm diameter in visible light with sufficient power to be seen during daylight. The apparatus is adapted to pan and tilt continuously and randomly within specified limits that are programmed to project the beam in various areas and protect the areas from birds. The apparatus relies on a robotic arm or orientable support mounted on a frame that can be displaced or repositioned easily thanks to a forklift. Methods for activating and controlling the apparatus are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20120232430
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an actigraphic device based on a universal actigraphic platform. Parameters from a plurality of sensors are acquired and correlated for determining a profile of use of the device. The device may be installed on a vehicle, for example a powered wheelchair, or be worn by a user. Two or more devices may form a network of communicating devices worn by a user. A method of using the actigraphic device for acquiring a profile of use is also provided.
