  • Patent number: 12640058
Abstract: A lumbar spine mechanism for a mannequin may include three or more joint units serially connected to provide joints for three or more rotational degrees of freedom (DOF). A rotational axis of a first DOF is configured to be aligned with a lateral axis of the mannequin. A rotational axis of a second DOF is configured to be aligned with an anterior-posterior axis of the mannequin. A rotational axis of a third DOF is configured to be aligned with a cranial-caudal axis of the mannequin. Sensors measure movements at each of the joint units to detect lumbar spine orientation changes. A bottom one of the joint units is adapted to be connected to a pelvis of the mannequin, and a top one of the joint units is adapted to be connected to a torso section of the mannequin.

  • Patent number: 10426156
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically deterring pest with a light projection on the ground that is perceived as a predator by pests such as birds, which triggers a fear reaction from the birds to leave the area. The apparatus is designed to project a large beam of more than 60 mm diameter in visible light with sufficient power to be seen during daylight. The apparatus is adapted to pan and tilt continuously and randomly within specified limits that are programmed to project the beam in various areas and protect the areas from birds. The apparatus relies on a robotic arm or orientable support mounted on a frame that can be displaced or repositioned easily thanks to a forklift. Methods for activating and controlling the apparatus are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20120232430
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an actigraphic device based on a universal actigraphic platform. Parameters from a plurality of sensors are acquired and correlated for determining a profile of use of the device. The device may be installed on a vehicle, for example a powered wheelchair, or be worn by a user. Two or more devices may form a network of communicating devices worn by a user. A method of using the actigraphic device for acquiring a profile of use is also provided.
