  • Patent number: 8126214
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for annotating electronic background maps adapted in particular to navigation aid systems for vehicles. Projection parameters and geodesic parameters are associated with the said background map. Display references are associated with the display of at least part of the said background map. After at least one annotation has been acquired, it is displayed on the said background map. The said at least one annotation is then transformed to at least one vectorial object characterized by at least one point having geometric coordinates defined in the display system of the said at least one annotation and of the said background map. The said geometric coordinates of the said at least one point of the said at least one vectorial object are then converted to geographic coordinates according to the said projection parameters and the said geodesic parameters associated with the said background map and according to the said display references.

  • Patent number: 8121786
Abstract: The invention has as its object to determine a risk of collision on the ground between an aircraft and another object. The aircraft comprises at least one proximity detector and a communication system suitable for setting up a communication among several points, at least one of the points being able to be external to the aircraft. After having received at least one indication from the proximity detector relating to the presence of an object, a signal representing an acoustic alarm linked to the detection of the object is generated then transmitted to the warning system. A comparison advantageously is made between the indication received from the proximity detector and certain parameters of the aircraft, the signal representing an acoustic alarm linked to the detection of the object being generated in response to the result of this comparison.

  • Publication number: 20090051702
Abstract: The invention has in particular as an object the generation, in real time, of a background map on the basis of a plurality of electronic maps having different projection parameters and geodesic parameters. After at least two electronic maps have been selected (300, 800), at least part of these maps is converted (315) according to projection parameters and geodesic parameters predetermined as a function of projection parameters and geodesic parameters associated with each of these selected electronic maps. A background map is then constructed (325) on the basis of these converted electronic maps.
