Abstract: A method and system for identifying a user terminal, implemented within a system for provisioning multimedia content that includes a license server and a content server, the user terminal receiving multimedia content, by a digital rights management (DRM) system, that is streamed in encrypted form via an open communication network, and the user terminal retrieving, by a browser implementing a multimedia content reader and a content decryption module suitable for decrypting multimedia content that is encrypted according to the DRM system, the method including obtaining, by the license server modified to incorporate an authentication server, an identifier of the content decryption module, and generating a terminal identifier as a function of the identifier of the content decryption module.

Abstract: A method in which a network head-end associates with each segment of a list of at least one segment of a first segment block, a time datum that makes it possible to determine whether a deadline for sending an access rights request to an access rights server has changed; the network head-end sends to the terminal, together with each segment in the list, the associated time datum thereof; the terminal receives, together with each segment in the list, the associated time datum thereof, then changes a renewal deadline predetermined according to the last time datum received to obtain a new predetermined renewal deadline that enables the terminal to decide, according to the value thereof and at a given time before or equal to the changed deadline, to send an access rights request to the access rights server.

Abstract: A method for broadcasting protected multimedia content includes, at predetermined intervals, having an access-rights server broadcast each new right of access to the broadcast multimedia content only to those terminals whose logins are included in a broadcast list. In response to a predetermined event, a terminal sends, to the access-rights server, via a point-to-point connection, a status message indicating, to the access-rights server, that the terminal is in its ready state. Alternatively, if the terminal is occupied, it avoids sending a status message. In the absence of reception of the status message that was expected in response to the predetermined event, the access-rights server automatically removes the identifier of the terminal from the broadcast list.

Abstract: A Method for supplying protected multimedia content during which a terminal a) acquires a service date from a date server and b) evaluates a temporal criterion of a licence with respect to the last acquired service date. A headend associates with each segment of the multimedia content, its transmission date, and transmits it in a stream together with the segment.
